Roanoke
Just returned from our vacation and had a wonderful visit. There were 6 adults, two teenagers and one child. The unit was the perfect size for our stay. The kitchen was well stocked and all appliances were in working order but starting to show some wear. The furniture is showing its age and will need to be replaced. However, it was adequate and met our needs. I was concerned that there would be a strong pet smell but was pleasantly surprised. We had a 50lb Greyhound with us and she enjoyed the unit and the quite neighborhood walks. The backyard pool was just the right size. The children and the adults enjoyed the beach in the mornings and the pool in the afternoons. The salt water pool was in great shape. The pool guy came by twice to clean the pool and check the water. Overall I would rate the unit an A- due to wear on the furniture. One big disappointment was the lack of a full size ironing board. A small table top board make it difficult to iron. The unit feels more like a second row unit as opposed to 3rd row. The walk to the beach was short and easiy on and young alike. A view of the inlet and the ocean was available from the decks. The sunsets over the inlet were stunning. Our group enjoyed the rockers on both levels as we watched the sunsets and our family time. Two big negatives, the lot next door has a new house under construction and the streets were being paved. Lots of noise from both. Both are short term isolated events but caused our visit to be somewhat tarnished. Underneath parking easily supported our 3 vehicles with room for more. Would definitely book the unit again for a future stay. The area reminds me of Myrtle Beach in the 60’s and 70’s. Lots of good places to eat and a real feel of the beach area. The marsh walk and the outdoor music was enjoyed by all.

In reference to the four stars in the property's condition, we have a couple of suggestions. 1) The exhaust fan in the main bathroom needs to work, all it does right now is noise and does not exhaust. 2) the screen sliding door at the balcony needs a pair of wheels which will make it easier to use as we enjoy the fresh air but not the bugs. Other than that, we have had a great two weeks and we will be back next year. Thank you!

We love the location. Carpet it pretty old and dirty, but other than that, a good place to stay. We have stayed several times before with no issues, but this year their are misquitos flying around the vents under house and we did see a roach in living room.

This was the second year we stayed in OOP 306. We have really enjoyed the stay. The condo is well-appointed and comfortable. The checkin-in process was awesome! Garden City Realty rocks! The only issue was that there were no overflow passes included in our package and previously agreed upon. Turns out, it was a non-issue. We look forward to our stay next summer as we have already booked.

We had everything we needed, house was clean. Beds were comfortable. Loved having the pool when we got tired of the beach. Perfect location, just had to walk across the street to beach access.

Started out poorly, pool and deck closed first 3 days, next the stairs to the beach closed for 3 days( after the pool was opened) refrigerator shelves broken, kitchen faucet leaking and kitchen floor slick as ice. Garden City reality was quick to fix the last 3 items! We were very happy when the pool and deck opened. Unfortunately, the last 2 days of our 2 week stay, they closed the pool again for a permit payment that was overdue! This is the first time we had an issue with this place. We will stay there again as we made many friends with renters and owners. It really is a nice place! Everyone has an off experience but the Realty was great at fixing our problems. They could not control the damage from the hurricaine Ian.

We enjoyed staying at this condo for several reasons. There was plenty of seating for everyone to be comfortable. I particularly loved the wicker chairs by the window for morning coffee. The balcony also had plenty of rockers. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, glasses, flatware and cookware. The mattress in master bedroom was slightly lumpy and could use more pillows. The bathroom sink tended to drain very slow. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would go back. Check in and check out was simple and easy - contactless. Really liked that!

Loved Pooh's Corner, great location for fishing.
Clean and taken care of. Only disappointed that it didn't have the screened porch as stated in the description. I would stay there again, Loved working with Garden City Realty.

Had a great experience. The property was very clean. We did have to have maintenance come out for a toilet Ricky and his son were extremely nice and helpful. I would highly recommend staying here again.

This property was ideal for my family with all our grand boys. They loved the dock and was able to fish all day. The downstairs area was perfect. We set up our kitchen ther. I would spend most of the day downstairs.

The room was great and the beds were comfortable the only thing that wasn’t so great was the washer door was almost broken off and the washer leaked when you used it and it also smelled really bad. I tried to clean the washer but it didn’t help.

We've rented through Garden City Realty a few times and they are very professional, responsive and very helpful, this time was no exception. Our first day there, the handle on the outer storm door broke and someone from maintenance was there to fix it within 24 hours.
The location of this unit was wonderful! Sitting on the balcony is like being right on the beach. It is right next to beach access, parking and a shower for your sandy feet.
The kitchen has everything you need for meal prep and cooking (and then some!)
The decor is bright and cheery and the unit was spotless.
Beach House is our favorite property in Garden City!

This Surfside Beach vacation was our fourth year in a row in this home. We keep coming back because we love the Surfside/Garden City area, and the location and amenities of this home have exceeded our expectations year after year. The Portofino community offers great parking, easy access to the ocean, convenience of a private beach access with shower, bench, and trashcan for easy clean-up from the beach, and a pool nestled within the 10 houses that is an extra bonus for kids. We always make time for our favorite shopping, dining, and activities Myrtle Beach offers, but this year we squeezed in a few new stops that are definitely worth mentioning. We toured nearby Coastal Carolina University with our rising Senior and even followed the baseball team on television as they competed for a spot in the College World Series. We also visited the Surfside Beach Farmer’s Market (held every Tuesday near the library), and four new restaurants that we’ll definitely revisit: Bovine’s in Murrell’s Inlet, Hamburger Joe’s in Surfside, Rioz Brazilian steakhouse, and the Conch Cafe, which offers oceanfront dining. The layout of the home is ideal for family or friends vacationing together, as each of the four bedrooms has its own full bathroom. We love the ease of parking in this particular unit because you can always overflow into the beach access parking or visitor parking if you had guests over to enjoy the beach. We even moved cars around in the evening to grill, play Cornhole under the house, and make homemade ice cream. Hopefully future guests will find as much to love about this vacation home as we have.
