Surf Master 111

We stayed in Unit 111 at the Surf Master. The unit is beautiful and well maintained. The only problem I have is that the unit was advertised as 1 and 1 1/2 baths. They did NOT mention that the owners of the units lock off the 1/2 bath. This was a problem one evening both my wife and I we have potty problems. The two bathrooms is one of the main reasons that I rented this beautiful unit. However, I this time I am formally requesting a partial credit due to not having two bathrooms as advertised. You should have been more truthful about the bathroom situation. Also, the unit is directly above the jacuzzi and other vacationers could look into our unit. We could not sit on the balcony without people looking at us. Considering that this was THE most expensive one bedroom unit - asking for a partial refund is not a stretch. I am going to continue looking at this unit to see if you change your description to ONE BATH. Additionally, we had to call maintenance to eradicate an ant problem. You can check your maintenance records.

This condo is beautiful, clean, and very well equipped. We always rent a 1-bedroom,and were excited that this particular unit had the bedroom oceanfront instead of in the back part of the unit. However, being on the 1st floor, which is one level above the pool/hot tub area, turned out to be a bit inconvenient. People standing by the hot tub could see directly onto our balcony and into the room. We just felt that we lacked privacy being on the first floor. I would still recommend this condo if this is something that wouldn't bother you.

B een staying at Surf Master for nearly 40 years. Second time in 111 and have already booked for next year. This apartment is very nice with attractive furniture. My only concern was the TV's which I had a hard time trying to find out how the controls worked.

I had doubts about staying on the first floor adjacent to the hot tub but decided to take a chance. The condo is very beautifully furnished with extremely nice art work and had everything needed for the week. My wife is a HGTV watcher and decided the owner must have had the place "staged." I found the furniture comfortable and the bed provided support for good night's sleep. We have stayed at Surf Master for over thirty years and this was the first time we booked the same apartment for next year before we checked out. A "well done"is extended to the owners.

Beautiful condo. Nicest, cleanest, Condo we have rented in the 10 years we have been going to Myrtle Beach. Only drawback for us was one bathroom. Not a deal breaker but inconvenient at times. Overall if this condo had at least one more bathroom we would try to rent it every year.

This was the first time staying at Surfmaster. We stayed in 111 and the condo was absolutely beautiful. The condo had everything one would need for a relaxing vacation. The staff at Surfmaster was also very helpful. The facilities were clean and family oriented. We will definitely be back to stay at Surfmaster 111.

The condo is in terrific shape and quite clean. The kitchen is well equipped with update to date appliances and all sorts of cooking tools. The furniture including the bed, is comfortable. It was too cold and windy to even step foot on the balcony, but it appeared to be a great place to sit for morning coffee watching the sun rise! We stay there again.

This was our first time staying in Garden City and it did not disappoint. Surf Master #111 was a first class condo, very clean, everything you needed was there and plenty of room for a 1 bedroom condo. Will definitely recommend this to all my friends.

Relaxing stay. Jackie Alston in Reservations was very accommodating with questions and extending our stay. Only concern was upon checking out I discovered blood stains on the mattress cover which was not seen til the fitted sheet was removed. Otherwise a great stay and would stay here again.

This was by far the nicest place we’ve stayed in a very long time. It is hard to find nice places in MB. These owners take care of their condo and provide a luxury experience for a reasonable price. The kitchen is amazing. The bed is comfy. Beautiful ocean front view and easy beach access. Loved everything about it.

It was just my husband and I.
This was perfect for the two of us. Waking up with the sunset over the ocean! Couldn't be better! Loved what they did with the shower! The deck/porch was really enjoyable for dining outside or just relaxing and enjoying the evening.

My family stays at Surf Master every year. This is the first time we’ve rented the 1 bedroom unit between the 2 and 3 bedroom units. We were going to need all three for the family coming this year. Unit 111 was perfect! Clean and ready. Gorgeous bathroom! Very comfy king bed. We are definitely looking at renting it again. Close to many restaurants and attractions.

Had an awesome week. Rental was very nice and loved how close to the beach we were. Only issue was the bed and toilet seat needs to be tightened or replaced. Not comfortable at all. Next year we will also make sure we are on the second floor due to how close first floor is to the pool and hot tub.

The Condo was very nice. The only issue was that there were no linens for the fold out couches. The room was little close to the Jacuzzi and people could see directly into the room. Other than that is was very nice.

The condo was in very good condition and the air conditioner was a godsend. We were there over the 4th of July, so it was extremely hot and muggy every day, but we were always comfortable. The king size bed had a memory foam pad, so it was one of the most comfortable beds I or my wife had ever slept on. Some of the accommodations were a little cramped, like the bathroom and the kitchen, but overall, it was awesome. Only a few drawbacks. First, parking was a nightmare but I blame the 4th of July holiday and not the building. Second, the room directly overlooks the hot tub, so going on your deck is a little uncomfortable with the people looking at you. Third, when I reserved the condo, it sounded as if we had direct access to the beach from our room. There is a breathtaking ocean view, but no way to get down to the beach from the patio. Otherwise, it was a fantastic place and I would definitely reserve it again if we come back.

we loved it but not looking at people heads right outside our window in hot tube we did not like. Very small bathroom and not enough wash clothes,other than that it was a beautiful place.

We literally had withdrawals after leaving this condo! The location is ideal, the price was very reasonable, and the bed was like a cloud. We cannot say enough about how perfect this unit was for us. Exceptionally clean, perfectly cool, and generously furnished. We do not care to stay anywhere else but here from now on. Definitely a five-star vacation rental. Thank y'all so much!

As soon as we opened the door we could smell the freshness of the condo. It was very clean and comfortable. The view was fantastic. The convenience to the pool and beach was wonderful. Even though it wasn't a real problem, I would have preferred the balcony had a little more privacy on with the railing. I felt people were looking in all the time. It would have been nice to have a tree or 2 for a little shade around the pool. I would recommend this property.

Enjoyed our holiday stay. Property well stocked. Fireworks viewing was great from beach. View and privacy from deck a little to close to hot tub. Window treatments in bedroom needs updating. Doesn't keep morning light out.

It was nice but when the wind blew the cold air came through the door like it might as well been open. Maintence left some strip to put in because I asked for help with the draft, that did not work. I stuffed paper towels in the door each night with a knife and it stopped the wind from coming in. I think that helped with the heating. Everything else was good.

Mrs. Tereno, Surf Master 111 is an excellent condo on the ocean-front. I do recall the issues we had with wind drafts coming around the metal door. This was a bit unfortunate as it was unusually cold during the month of your stay. That being said, the doors in Surf Master are currently being replaced. It was described as "Surfmaster 111 - One-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bath oceanfront condo", could not find the half bath but did find a locked door in unit. Overall experience will rate from 1(poor) to 10(great) a 8. Place was decent, light fixtures did not work everywhere, outdoor chairs had bird excrement, so I could not lay clothes or towels on them. Place had a great view of ocean and beach and living space was clean.

I complained about the Air Cond. last year in this room. I was glad to see that it had been fixed and the room was very comfortable. Nice play to stay and enjoy the best beach on the SC coast, Garden City Beach!

The unit was very nice - kitchen could use some updates especially the stove. Only complaint is there is a lot of people hanging in the hot tub all evening and the living room of the condo looks right out on it. Otherwise it was very nice. We really enjoyed our week.

The AC unit has issues. Either the thermostate on the wall is a fake or the unit is to small for the size of the apartment. The air that it blew was cold, but Even with the blinds closed all day long, calling for 70 degrees the unit could not bring the temp below a reading of 77 during the day and about 74 at night or early morning when I woke up. Other than this one issue, I was pleased.

This is our third consecutive year we have stayed at the surf master .
We had a small problem with their conditioning unit one day. I went to the office and a rep came over with me to investigate, could not fix the problem himself therefore contacted the service company, all was rectified within 1.5 hours from my notification. Staff has always been extremely helpful whenever we had questions over the past 3 years. All units are right on beach, our units have been in very good condition. Very good value for the cost

Love the proximity to the beach. 111needs new bed, could use bathroom update. Gets noisy at night due to hot tub but security pretty strict with following the hours posted. Overall, the buildings appear older. Stairwells need cleaned better...cigarette butts & litter present. Parking can be an issue.

We have stayed in this same condo for the past two years. It has always been very clean and we havent had any complaints. The location is good and the other people staying in the building have always been nice. The Kitchen in this particular condo could use a little work but nothing that would make me pass it over. We plan on coming back next year and will use this same condo if available.

It's always a pleasure to stay at Surfmaster and deal with the staff at Garden City Realty. They're always were friendly and accomodating. Some units are just nicer than others. Even though I enjoyed my stay a lot, the unit is showing it's wear- couldn't open the sliding door in the bedroom and both screens needed replacing.

Security was lacking due to the fact that there were people in the hot tub at 3am being very loud. Also, speaking of the hot tub all week no one could enjoy because there were always 12 to 15 kids in there (same kids) and they would have boggie boards and drinks all through there. Being on the first floor was nice, but watching children from our balcony in the hot tub, not being supervised and no one from the complex overseeing the rules was very annoying to the point we may not use your facility. As for the home itself, it was clean, owners do a nice job. The bed was very comfortable...

The Kitchen cabinets above the bar area could not be used due to the oder of mold. The bathroom needs updated and the air conditioning was poorly working. At most we were at 75 degrees. With it being 98 degrees outside, our unit was very uncomfortable temperature wise... I did call maintence, but we couldnt connect for it to be looked at. The toilet was continously running as well.

I thought the building itself was poorly maintained as the elevators and walkways were extremely gross.

Again looking at security, the same group of kids that ran the hot tub were also suspected in pulling fire alarms that really made customers upset. Thank goodness we were on the first floor, but I saw an elderly women trying to go down flights of steps, that if security were doing there job, then maybe we wouldn't have had issues such as these.

I feel that this complex is old,but when someone is paying the prime prices that we paid there could be upgrades and maintainced better. I also believe that security needs to be looked into.


On a positive note, the woman in the office was extremly nice and helpful when we moved in, she needs to be prasised for her attentivness and her hospitality. Thank you!

My stay was great, however the bathroom could have been better. The shower curtains were dingy and the toilet seat is aged and dirty looking. They both need to be replaced.

The unit was exactly as advertised. Very enjoyable vacation. The only thing that was not five star (and this is minor) was the air conditioner. Even though the temperature outside never got extremely hot, the A/C really struggled to keep the unit cool during the day. I couldn't tell if it was just slow at reaching a cool temp or just didn't have the capacity to completely cool. At night, it did fine. Over-all, we had a great time. Thanks

Glad you enjoyed your stay in the condo. Unfortunately during your stay the building did experience a couple of air conditioning problems that caused the air conditioners to not function at their peak. The Property Management company did address those issues and informed us that the a/c's are now functioning at their peak. Just thought we would let you know what we found out about them.
