Surf Master 1009

We enjoyed the condo 1009 at Surf Master by the sea. It has everything you need. The King bed was on the firm side. Bathroom has been remodeled. The half bath is nice to have. Kitchen is looking a little tired, but it was clean. The plastic Adirondack chairs were comfortable. We would stay again.

We were very pleased with our stay. We spent considerable time on the balcony and the views were spectacular. Furniture and decorations in the living, dining and bedroom were all very nice. We did have a few suggestions... would have liked a fire extinguisher in the unit for safety sake. Recommend someone look at the clutter and content of all the kitchen cabinets. There was no cutting board, ice cream scoop or scissor. Silver ware and frying pans were marginal. Too many of some size glasses and not enough of others. Same with plates. Not enough coffee mugs. All in all we felt the kitchen needed quite a bit of attention. TV by the way was very good.

Just spent a wonderful week in 1009. The property was clean and comfortable. The balcony was the ideal spot to watch the sunrise in the morning. The living area was comfortable and the beachy decor was beautiful. The kitchen was very convenient, but lacked a few items that I needed in order to prepare a meal. A larger glass baking dish or two is needed and the prep knife selection was very poor. I was happy to see a Kehrig type coffee maker as well as a regular coffee maker. The bedroom was very nice. The bed was soft and comfortable. I just wish it was king instead of queen. The bookcase/cubby storage unit in the closet made hanging clothes almost impossible. I wish the storage unit had been in the living area instead of the bedroom closet. There is generous drawer storage space in the bedroom furniture. The bedroom TV is tiny and sometimes we could not get it to work properly. I am sure that was operator error and not the tv's fault. The bathroom shower was great! The washer/dryer was nice and allows me to come home with clean clothes instead of dirty laundry. The location is close to restaurants, shopping and activities. I would definitely consider staying here again. Garden City Realty is great to work with too. I wish I was still there.

Very nice stay at Surfmaster 1009. The unit was immaculate with an amazing view of the beach and ocean. Would definitely stay here again. The Surfmaster building is well kept up with enough parking.

Very nice place great view of ocean couple thinga happened which not the places fault just a little annoying we were next to sprinkler room they were in there around 630am the firat night and the bedroom was next to it could hear eveything. Then two nights before we left all we heard was stomping above us at 5am. Not sure what the bedroom is near but that also woke us up. Room was great though. Loved having a 1.5 bathroom. Would stay again.

Vacation stay was great and relaxing. Unit was clean and well furnished. A little disappointed that the unit didn’t have an ice maker. Although manually filling ice trays were a memory of my childhood, unit should have an automatic ice maker for the price we are paying. Also not unit related, wish the free wi-fi would be strong out to the lifeguard umbrella area.

Surfmaster has been our favorite for many years and 1009 was a nice unit, with a couple of flaws. It was very clean, well furnished, and well stocked with kitchen supplies. However, both bathroom fans were very noisy and ineffective and the hot water was not very hot at all. Finally, while the combo lock on the door was more convenient than using a key, the combo locks for the beach an pool access are just very annoying. GC Realty was great as always.

Nice stay, floor clean. Bed uncomfortable (springs on last legs), sofa slightly more comfortable. Highly recommend replacing the vent and tiles above the stove - can't decide if it is smoke (looks like mold growing).

Has everything you need for a comfortable vacation, especially for the price. Great location. For us, being awawy from the grand strand at myrtle is a plus. We like calm and a family enviroment. It is still close enough to many fun attractions.

Our condo was on the 10th floor with an amazing few of the ocean and the sunrise. The building, pool area and condo were clean and kept up nicely. We loved the location, it's nice and quiet,the beach isn't crowded, no-one bothered us. Yet close to the pier, stores etc. Rental office lady was super nice and helpful. This is the perfect spot for families. This vacation was perfect and we are looking forward to returning soon.

Overall, it was a very pleasant stay. The room was very clean and well maintained. The view was incredible. It was very spacious. We had a problem with a toilet tank breaking, and after hours maintenance responded quickly, although a plumber had to be called in the next day. Minor complaints are from personal preferences. The bed was not very comfortable and in need of a new mattress. All the seating is very low, including the toilets, which made it difficult for my wife who has back and knee problems. The neighbor was a bit noisy. The rooms would be quiet enough with normal guests in the next room. The bedroom was right next to the walkway as well, which made it a little difficult on a light sleeper. Dan, from the front office, was very helpful and polite. A nice stay, just shy of being incredible.

This place definitely had it's good and so-so reviews. I love the oceanfront, the full kitchen, 1.5 baths, Keurig (that was a plus), and very nice staff. Parking was pretty good, relatively quiet.
The downside -- once again, the mattresses are awful!! I highly recommend either bringing a very thick mattress pad or your own blow up -- is this because I go at the end of a season, and everything is used/abused by that time, or just that the owner/realty company spends for the cheapest mattress possible? It was pretty clean, but I still find little stains, tiny bits of food around -- this may be for the limited amount of time only 1 cleaning crew has to clean the condo before moving onto the next one.
Would I stay here again - yes. Do I wish things were kept up a little more - yes!

We were very happy with our experience at SurfMaster 1009. The couch has been replaced/recovered from what the pictures show.

Only real downside is the refrigerator doesn't have an ice maker.

Great views, very convenient and the building operated smoothly for us.

It was a good few days. I got to see a lot of properties for my upcoming stay in June. The only problem I had was with my request to look at other places I was only given 5 places at 1st none of which I ended up staying at since their were better options given the next day. The place we stayed at was very nice and I would rent it again in the off season.

Loved the condo and can suggest some updates.
First, the freezer needs an icemaker. Ice cube trays are tedious. Also, the stereo has a good sound but doesn't have an AUX jack needed for Ipods. Finally, the TV remote(s) are confusing. Instructions would be helpful. Thank you.

We were disappointed that the bedroom faced the street. The outside hallway carpet was very worn. The pool was in good shape but the hot tub desperately needs a paint job. The location is great, in a quiet residential neighborhood and close to many restaurants and golf. The interior was decorated nicely, with a beach/lighthouse theme. Overall, I highly recommend the Surfmaster and will return again.

This condo was neat, clean and has an excellent view! Everything that we were promised was true and the weather even cooperated. Make sure you bring field glasses because the Dolphins will swim along the beach and watching from the balcony is a must. If you enjoy a laid back atmosphere, nice beach walks, great local food and relaxation, this is the spot for you! If there is a drawback the cable service is not HD but who wants to watch tv on vacation anyways!

We have been staying at Surfmaster for the last 7 years. We love it. This particular condo was clean and nice but it could use some upgrades. The kitchen wasn't stocked well with things you need like can opener, etc. My only complaint every year is the parking. If you get back past 11:00 you can't find a parking space. Regardless we will be back next year and for years to come!!

The weather, beach and pool ...all excellent. Diner at Lee's Inlet Kitchen is a must.

The property management at reception not a people person. Did not ask if we enjoyed our stay or interested to book fornext season...that makes a diffrence to promote a site. The safe in our unit was not working and management did not follow up to repair or inform us of the situation. The unit was clean but requires upgrading/updated. Parking is limited. Maintenance staff of the premises do an awesome job and well maintained and clean.

We like Garden City and the location and view were great. The bed was very uncomfortable though and the entire condo had a very musty smell when we arrived. New pillows and sheets helped with that. We did enjoy our stay. thank you

We have stayed at the Surfmaster many times because we love the location and the condos. This unit was nice. The only negative is that there is a machine room adjacent the bedroom. It is very loud off and on all night. We got used to it after a few nights, but it's quite loud. We like that the staff has always been very nice/professional.

Our only complaints were that the elevator broke when we arrived. However, they did tend to it at 8 the next morning and it was good after that. Mechanical things will break, after all. Also, check out time was supposed to be 10 am and yet the cleaning crew was knocking on our door at 9:30. They said they were told to be there at that time. We were packing up still! Overall, we were very pleased with the facility and will be back, hopefully in a few months!!! We would definitely recommend this place.

The room was nice when we first got there the toilet handle was broken they fixed it. The room was pretty nice could use a little updating in some of it. There was a horrible loud noise that couldn't bc fixed so we had to switch rooms near the end of the week moving all of our stuff was a hassle and took out time from one of our last days. Overall the room was pretty nice I would stay there again and the location was nice. Everyone there was polite and helpful.
