Portofino III 321A

This is our fifth consecutive year renting Portofino 321A for our family vacation! We love the location, just south of the Surfside pier. The home itself has accommodated our family comfortably, and we’ve cooked many meals in the well-equipped kitchen. We love the easy beach access and neighborhood pool! The house is within walking distance of some of our favorite eating spots, such as River City Cafe, Benjamin’s for great coffee/breakfast, and Pizza Hyena. We’ll definitely be back!

This place provided plenty of space for our family. The only negative was the ice maker was broken and there were no ice trays to use. Maintenance came but was unable to repair it. The walk to the beach was short. There was plenty of
beach. Be prepared to walk in loose sand to get to the water.

The property, location, and overall experience was wonderful. We basically arrived at the house, unpacked our vehicles and we were able to easily walk to the pool, Beach and a good enough sampling of restaurants we needed. There was only one negative. We had to make our own beds. Not what I expected. This may be normal now but it made me feel a little more like an employee than a customer.

A very nice unit. Well equipped.
A few minor complaints-water pressure in kitchen was way too low and took a long time to get hot water. Sliding door to deck is difficult to use. One mattress upstairs was stained as was the mattress pad.

Enjoyed the rental! Water pressure was not good. It would be nice if the downstairs bedroom had one king bed and the upstairs had the two fulls. This is a better layout if you have an elderly couple. There are a lot of stairs.

It was an incredible week with 11 of us under the same roof at the most awesome beach house and location. We thoroughly enjoyed both the ocean and the pool. The house was full of games and books. The porch was the perfect place for ocean breeze. The fourth of July celebration at Surfside Beach was festive. I worked with Pam from Reality and was extremely helpful getting us the right accommodations to fit our needs. We enjoyed seafood at Drunken Jacks and a BBQ at Curios Pig and a deck side meal at Bubbas along with Dagwoods. Did some grilling and other homecooked meals. Took advantage of Piggly Wiggly and WalMart for groceries. Family loved the Banana Boat ride. We visited a few local attractions and enjoyed some retail therapy. We did a day trip to Charleston to get a little history lesson. It was over the top best vacation week thanks to Garden City Reality. I already recommended it to interested friends.

This Surfside Beach vacation was our fourth year in a row in this home. We keep coming back because we love the Surfside/Garden City area, and the location and amenities of this home have exceeded our expectations year after year. The Portofino community offers great parking, easy access to the ocean, convenience of a private beach access with shower, bench, and trashcan for easy clean-up from the beach, and a pool nestled within the 10 houses that is an extra bonus for kids. We always make time for our favorite shopping, dining, and activities Myrtle Beach offers, but this year we squeezed in a few new stops that are definitely worth mentioning. We toured nearby Coastal Carolina University with our rising Senior and even followed the baseball team on television as they competed for a spot in the College World Series. We also visited the Surfside Beach Farmer’s Market (held every Tuesday near the library), and four new restaurants that we’ll definitely revisit: Bovine’s in Murrell’s Inlet, Hamburger Joe’s in Surfside, Rioz Brazilian steakhouse, and the Conch Cafe, which offers oceanfront dining. The layout of the home is ideal for family or friends vacationing together, as each of the four bedrooms has its own full bathroom. We love the ease of parking in this particular unit because you can always overflow into the beach access parking or visitor parking if you had guests over to enjoy the beach. We even moved cars around in the evening to grill, play Cornhole under the house, and make homemade ice cream. Hopefully future guests will find as much to love about this vacation home as we have.

Protected from the wind so we could easily sit on the porch. Large bedrooms and washer/dryer was convenient. We played games at the it table and also very convenient. Only issue we had was the water pressure in the kitchen sink was so slow it took a while to do dishes/fill coffee pot.

We are long-time visitors to the Grand Strand and have returned to Portofino 321A for three years in a row. The location is perfect, both for parking, beach access, and convenience to food and entertainment. The house is well-equipped to handle families for sleeping, dining, and comfort.

We just returned from staying at PortofinoIII 321-A in Surfside Beach, SC. We-being grandparents and daughter with her family: Husband and two teenagers. Great wide beach with no undertow-water still somewhat warm even though it was October. Pool still open for use in the complex. Cottage is in a great location with easy access to the beach. We used a rented beach buggy to carry chairs, boards, etc to the beach. Nice to have the ramp next to the cottage. The cottage is very well maintained with almost every thing needed (had to use a cookie sheet for a pizza pan-lol). Nice to have towels, washcloths, etc., furnished. We were able to have the beds made before arrival by calling Garden City Realty and paying a very small fee for the service. Once the AC went out in the night. When we called Garden City Realty the next morning, they had a technician out in a few hours to fix it. Otherwise HVAC worked very well. Furniture, amenities, etc., at the cottage were modern and up to date. Seemed to be recently painted. Need to mentioned that the first floor bedroom has two twin beds. We had been using a east-west beach in NC for years, but too many red flag days recently. I had remembered the MB beaches being somewhat calm, so we looked for a cottage in the Garden City area. Loved it! Walked to Bubba's fish shack for seafood (4 tenths of a mile north of the cottage). Had Hotdogs from Sam's Corner Diner (2 miles south). Enjoyed the beach each day--never a red flag day. Ate on the deck at the cottage for breakfast to enjoy the view and hear the waves. Under cottage parking a little tight for large vehicles, but not an issue. Additional parking in the complex. Hopefully we can return in the late spring of 2022.

I am very pleased with Garden City Realty. When we arrived the keys wouldn’t open the deadbolt lock. I called them & they sent a maintenance person over within 15 min. The home was well stocked with dishes & cooking utensils& pots. The decor was very beachy which I love! One problem we had was the refrigerator door would not close tightly. This was a problem 2 years ago when we stayed in this house. I would recommend replacing the refrigerator.. we did have a marvelous time & the house is in a good location for kids because there are no streets to cross to get to the beach . We did not eat out much because of COVID & having small children but our favorite restaurant is The Claw House in Murrel’s Inlet. They had outdoor seating there

We had the best week in Surfside! The Portofino III 321A is a beautiful home, very clean and well kept. You could easily notice all the personal details the homeowners put into this home - it was not just a basic "cookie cutter" beach house. It had everything we needed. The location was perfect. I was concerned that the public parking beside the house would make our area of the beach too crowded, but it did not! Most of those people were in and out after riding the banana boat or parasailing. The house is in a good location, plenty of parking and the beach was not overcrowded. We will be staying here again!

House was impressive. Very clean and nice floorplan.
Location to beach and pool was perfect. Parking was tight but livable. Would like to have seen a gas grill but made due with charcoal. Rental crew very helpful and cleaning crew did a fine job getting us in early in the day. Next visit we will make sure we get a golf cart to travel the area. Everyone there had one but us.

Our family really enjoyed our week at Portifino 321A. When we arrived, the house was as it had been portrayed online. We really loved the location making it easy to get on the beach with children and gear. I loved most the spacious PORCH! The furniture was so comfy— rocking chairs. And the table and chairs let us have many fun games there. The pool was clean and not crowded. From booking the house, check-in, to check-out was easy and everyone was very nice. Loved that each linen packet was wrapped tightly with clear wrapping waiting on each bed and towels were too. Great week all around!! All 5’s!

This was our second annual summer stay at Portofino 321A, and we can’t wait to return again. In spite of unseasonably cool and rainy weather for Memorial Day, we enjoyed this great beach home. We love the location between the Surfside and Garden City piers and also enjoy the proximity to the public beach access/water sport area, so that friends and family can join us for beach fun. The house offers a great ocean view porch and a community pool. We’ve enjoyed cookouts with family both years, and we appreciate the open floor plan for entertaining and dining on the main level. This home has become a true beach treasure for us, and we are now making it a tradition!

We absolutely loved our stay at Portofino lll 321A. The property description was exactly as described and it was clean and well-maintained. The house was very homey and you couldn’t have asked for a better location. Lots of good restaurants close by. Our two favorites were Poppy’s and Lee’s Inlet Kitchen. Poppy’s had great burgers and sandwiches and you have to try the fried Oreos. OMG! Lee’s Inlet Kitchen at Murrells Inlet had the best seafood that I’ve ever had. This was our first time staying at Surfside Beach and using Garden City Realty and it was an excellent experience. I can’t wait to go back and I’ll definitely use Garden City Realty again.

This Portofino beach home easily accommodated our group of 7 for the week. Each of the 4 bedrooms has its own bathroom, which was a huge bonus. The kitchen and living area were well-stocked with all of your vacation needs. We loved the quiet Surfside Beach location because it is very quiet, safe and family-oriented. We spent our days resting on the porch, enjoying the community pool, and relaxing on the beach. The private beach access was easy and convenient for our guests to come and go on their own schedule. We loved the wide beach area, cleanliness of the home and Surfside Beach, and the amenities of covered, private parking, and outdoor beach showers and a charcoal grill at our unit. We will definitely return to rent here again and will recommend the home/area to anyone.

We originally didn’t book this house, but when we got to our rental there were some plumbing problems that caused us to have to move houses. (The staff handled this very quickly and efficiently) The new house was over all nice. The carpets could use a good deep cleaning. Your feet or socks will be black after walking around for a while. There is a lot of clutter around that makes it very difficult to keep small children out of. I was worried our toddlers were going to break something. The kitchen was stocked well, and all the appliances worked. The WiFi wasn’t great and made connecting to the internet challenging, but house is in a great location and easy access to the beach! I would stay again.

Our stay at this location was absolutely the best. It was comfortable for everyone. Privacy was never an issue as each had their own space. We also loved the open spaces for gathering together whether it was on the porch, down stairs grilling or in the open floor plan of the kitchen, dining room, & living room. We love the Surfside Beach area and have rented in the Portofino 3 area a few times. Here is the good and the not so good about the home:
1. The location is amazing, even being second row you get a tremendous view and a good bargain.
2. The pool is so awesome, not heated but always very nice and private.
3. The house is well equipped and you almost need to bring nothing.
4. Carpets very dirty, our socks were filthy from walking on it.
5. House is in need of updating.
6. Televisions are actually computer monitors and very very small.
7. Deck is awesome.
Great bargain but wish the house was more updated and cleaner.

The property is in a very nice location, a few feet from the beach and easy short walks to several restaurants/bars. The house's interior is dated and could use some work, especially in the kitchen. The layout of the living area and bedrooms makes it easy for everyone to have their on space, but still be able to family fun in living area.

We loved Portofino 111 321A. It was in a great quiet location yet within walking distance to the Surfside Pier. This house was great for our large family. It was wonderful to have a bathroom for every bedroom. Not once did we have to settle a fight over all the bathrooms being full and who was going next. It must also have a wonderful water heater because with five girls taking showers we never once ran out of hot water.
We were also pleasantly surprised with the nice short walk to the beach. The whole stay was perfect and I highly recommend this house for your next vacation!

We have rented several times in the past from Garden City Realty and have always been satisfied with our accommodations. However, this year we rented Portofino III 321B and I must say that it was the best rental we have stayed in so far. We loved the view of the ocean, the swimming pool being right beside the house, and the short walk we had to the beach. The kids were all thrilled with house and they felt the same as the adults in regards to the house--it was the BEST!! Can't wait till next year to see what we stay in next.

We had a fabulous time staying at the Portofino III 321A! Very well equipped and lots of room! The porch was great! An outside fan would be a great addition. Plenty of room for all 8 of us to sit outside and take in the ocean view! Had an issue with the refrigerator and Garden City Reality responded the same day and had it fixed within an hour or two! The rental of sheets and towels was a HUGE plus! We would definitely stay again!

Our stay was wonderful. Of course being at the beach is wonderful. But this house made it even more enjoyable. The beds were awesome. I've stayed other condos and house and the beds are always cheap the owners bought top of the line beds for this house. Sitting out of the porch is a plus. Kitchen was stocked with good utensils and cookware and some have really bad cookware. No complaints just overall very happy with this house.

Very nice house - great location - the mattresses on the beds are very comfortable I'm actually trying to find one like it. The only complaint I have was the WIFI - I tried rebooting - didn't improve it - we had to disconnect from it - might want to have that checked out.

Wonderful stay! The house was perfect for 8 adults, 1 teen, and 1 child. Beautifully decorated with all the comforts of home. Very spacious and clean. Although house is termed ocean front, you can only see the ocean through the public access to the right of the house in front of you. But you can see this in one of the pictures. House was clean and well appointed. It could use an update on some of the cushions and carpet but was acceptable. We loved the deck and furniture and spent a lot of family time there.

We really love Surfside Beach area and rental location. The rental is fine except for the bathroom door that we reported last year. Needs to be repaired and adjusted to open over the carpet. Would be great if the deck had a ceiling fan, they aren't that expensive anymore. We'll be back.

We had another wonderful family vacation at this property. It was great to see the improvements the new owners are making. The property is exactly as represented and is very clean and well kept. We love the Surfside Beach area, having spent numerous vacations there. The location of this property is perfect. Our family enjoys being able to go out the door and be on beach. The big porch with all the rocking chairs is a particular favorite. A perfect place to relax, enjoy a cold drink and read or talk. The property is located near numerous restaurants, Murell's Inlet and Brookgreen Gardens. So lots nearby to see and do. Charleston is only an hour and a half away and makes a great day trip. The house is even stocked with children's books, beach toys, games as well as beach chairs. We put the provided grill to good use as well. Our family felt at home during our stay and look forward to coming back in the future.

July, 2015. Nice stay. No sharks and felt secure in the ocean. Very nice accommodations and fairly quiet neighborhood. Only problem was traffic if one wanted to go into Myrtle Beach. The highway system needs work.

It was a pleasant week. I really enjoyed bringing my 2 grandbabies (11 mo. and 10 mo.) to the beach for the first time and wished their grandfather could have been there to see them. He would have been so happy to watch his own children being a parent at the beach. (He passed away when our own children were just teenagers - 14 years ago.)
We found that it would be better if the beach access had a ramp instead of steps because of taking baby gear (wagon/cart) to the beach. So we used the public beach access ramp. It would be nice to have a gate in the white fence leading from the public access - with a lock on the gate that you could use with a key.
Overall, it was nice.

Myself along with 7 other women, all high school graduates, same year, vacation together every spring. This year we choose Myrtle. What a great time we shared being able to stay in a house rather than two motel rooms. We arrived on Monday evening and by Tuesday morning they were telling me they wanted to come back to this house, next year. It was located near to restaurants, shopping, entertainment, and best of all the airport. We will be back.

We loved it! What a joy! The place was clean and comfortable. Liked how there were cleaning supplies labeled so we knew we could use them. Thought we would be beachside, though, because of the advertising. Would have preferred ocean front, like it was described. Overall, an excellent vacation! Thank you!

My wife and I stayed here the week leading up to our wedding and they house was perfect! Right on the beach and close to everything we left wishing we owned the house so we could come back any time.

The king mattress needs replacement, also the sofa was not very comfortable, need mixer, more silverware, Bottom shelf of refridge was falling out of door.

We were very pleased with our stay at Surfside Beach. The property was in a great location and in excellent condition. My only recommendation would be new mattresses for the beds. We had a fabulous stay and hope to come back one day!

Condition a little worn. Router and modem need replacing; would not have had wireless except that son is an IT wiz.

Noisy every early morning(6am) because beach tractor accesses beach from drive beside house.

Otherwise, very good location and amenities for family vacation. Likely to return.

Thank you for taking the time to complete the review. This property was sold in May 2013 and the new owner has already made a lot of upgrades and she will continue to make more upgrades. Portofino 321A was a really nice house and the location was great, there is a fantastic view of the ocean. The pool was clean and well kept! we had a great time. The living room furniture is shabby and needs to be replaced is the only complaint we had. I would recommend this property. Thanks to Garden City Realty for being friendly and professional.
