Pooh's Corner

We had the best, most relaxing week ever! I needed some downtime due to recently losing my younger sister to Alzheimer's. It was the perfect medicine! Pooh's Corner was a great place to unwind! The maintenance, pool company and landscapers were professional and polite. Would highly recommend Pooh's Corner to friends.

The house is beautiful. We got off to a rocky start because the previous visitors had left a real mess. Vomit all over the yard was not cleaned up until we called and complained 3 times. Once they finally sent someone over and everything was cleaned up our vacation was pretty close to perfect. The location of the house is great.

A perfect home, perfect location, perfect week for myself, Hubby and our precious furbaby. Nothing else could better describe this wonderful home and a view you can only dream about. As long as we are able this will be our vacay home away from home. The only suggestions to make it even better would be a Keurig coffee maker and new deep pockets King sheets for the downstairs bedroom. The bed is as comfortable as ours at home, but needs sheets to fit better. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous home.

This was a beautiful house, and I so appreciate having a nice place we can go to enjoy the beach WITH OUR DOG! There are so few that allow this, and honestly, I wouldn't have taken this vacation if I couldn't have brought my pup.

The home was fantastic. It was perfect for our family of 6 with 4 generations. Having a dock AND a pool was just the best, especially with our dogs. We were surprised, however, that there was absolutely no type of food in the house, so I would advise future renters to either bring their own salt and pepper, cooking oil, etc. or be prepared to buy everything. We did have the unfortunate experience of Hurricane Idalia. The staff was very attentive to our well being as well as to the possible flooding of our cars during this time. Sadly, the pool was flooded with inlet water and mud and was unusable for half of our stay. Other than that, our time there was exactly what we wanted.

We could not have asked for a more wonderful rental experience than Pooh’s Corner and the incredible GCR staff. Bob was beyond words i helping us with details in every way before we arrived. His diligence and communication regarding the inoperable pool and Ian’s storm damage put our minds at ease before arriving. He even went on his day off and took photos of the property! Our check in was also amazing due to the kindness and friendliness of Kathy at the front desk. What a delightful person!
The home was spotless and of course the inlet view always breathtaking. The king bed downstairs was as comfy as ours at home. Thank you Garden City Realty and the owners of this gorgeous home. See you again in Oct.2023. We have already booked!��

This was our 5th year staying here and we absolutely love it!! We love to fish so Poohs Corner is a great match for our family. It’s well maintained and we thank the owners for this. The only thing we would add to this house is a shower in the downstairs master bedroom. We hope to stay here again next year!

We have stayed at Pooh's several years and always enjoyed our stay. We plan to stay again next year.
However, there are some things that could use improvement. Our rental was not as clean as expected. There was some kind of residue left on the carpet upstairs that needed to be vacuumed before we arrived. The showerhead downstairs makes a shrill screaming sound while showering. This is the second year this has been a problem.

This house was nearly perfect ! It is on the inlet with a fishing dock, and a salt water pool . A simple 2 block walk (or golf cart ride ) to the beach ! The kitchen was lacking in pot holders and mixing bowls . The upstairs inlet side bathroom fan does not work . And the pool
Could have been better heated for April Spring Break! ( other houses we have rented give access to heating the pool for a little extra - we would have gladly done so!) Other than that, we truly enjoyed our stay at Pooh’s Corner !

Loved the house. We stayed Thanksgiving week 2021. The pool area looked great and we absolutely loved sitting on the dock and watching the sunsets and even the fishing boats. Beds were really comfortable. House was in great shape.

Only complaint i would have is that the bathrooms need some TLC. The master on the main level doesnt have a shower so we showered in the bathroom next door. The shower door was gross. Upstairs the toilet in the master bedroom made loud noises when it was trying to shutoff. Tank insides need replaced.

Over all was a great place to stay in a quiet area of garden city/Murrels inlet

The dock and views over the inlet are top notch!

We had a great family vacation at Pooh’s corner. This makes about 4 years we have stayed here and we love it. The only thing that could make better arrangements for us would be a shower in the downstairs king size bedroom.

The only things that would make it better are a good deep cleaning and a shower in the downstairs master bathroom (only has a garden tub). We will rent here again.

Pooh’s Corner is situated in a great location. The spaciousness of the house suited our needs. We enjoyed having the private dock and pool, which was well maintained. Our biggest disappointment was the general cleanliness of the property... a broken grill tossed to the side in the backyard, weeds that should’ve been cut, dog poop not cleaned up by previous renters, inside kitchen cabinets needed cleaned, table in loft was broken, shower door needed fixed. When the Reality company was contacted, they were very nice and most of the problems were addressed the next day. I would recommend this to a friend only if I knew this property would have a detailed cleaning.

Overall experience was great minus a few interruptions! One unexpected interruption was delivery of a heat pump and then another by workers installing it and 3 other times by workers either cleaning pool or setting temp on pump or just checking on the pool area walkway. I would suggest that the workers try and do repairs or installation when guest are not there using the home. I would not come when they are using pool or block the driveway. Other than this happening we enjoyed Poohs Corner!

We stayed at the Pooh House many years ago with our young children. We all returned for our 25 th wedding anniversary. We loved the addition of the pool with the shallow side for our grandson. It was very enjoyable. Everything was very nice except the stains on the carpet, which is probably because they allow pets and lack of usable cookware. We of course didn’t let that bother us or slow us down. The weather was perfect!

We had a great time! GCR was very accomodating getting house cleaned & getting us in early. It was sppreciated. I would like to express a concern I have for renting the property again. I feel that when I’m paying that much money for property and I have the view that Poohs corner offers me of a sunset I would like to be able to watch it comfortably. There was no place to sit under the house to enjoy the breeze, and there was no place to sit other than a Walmart stackable chair on the back porch. If you’ve ever sat in the plastic stackable then chairs that they had at the property you would understand why this was unacceptable. For this reason I Would have to consider not renting Poohs corner again until they can actually put some furniture on the porches. Other than that the only other suggestion I would have is to maybe upgrade the kitchen supplies. It felt like someone went to the homeless shelter and just picked up a bunch of pots and pans and utensils instead of a home having a stocked kitchen. The beds were very comfortable the furniture was very nice inside the location is perfect and these are minor changes that I would offer a suggestion to the owner to change.

We loved the home and the marsh view.

The house did not however have any hangers and I had to go to Walmart to buy some. The dishwasher smelled fishy and the oven door would come open while it was hot which made us worry the children would get burned,

Just a little feedback. Sorry mostly negative - I hope it didn't come off like we didn't love the house because we really did.

We love Pooh's Corner because of its location on the channel and that it is dog friendly so we can take our little fur baby with us. We have stayed here for the past few years and plan to go again next year. My only suggestion is the kitchen needs to be restocked with some sharp knives, etc. We cook in a lot and it would be helpful to have a few usable supplies available. But overall, we love staying here.

We really enjoyed our stay at Pooh's Corner! The home was perfect, clean and fit our big extended family. We loved the pool area and dock. We actually had an issue with something floating up and under the dock that made it dangerous for us to walk on, but the folks at Garden City Realty were on it and had it repaired in no time. I can't say enough good things about Garden City Realty. They really took care of us.

Very limited kitchen cooking pots pans utensils cups plates platters - perhaps adequate for a group of two, absolutely fell short for our group of nine. Moving in was a challenge as cleaning crew of one didnt finish until around 7pm. Pool was great, beds comfortable. No water hoses under house or in yard. Water to fish cleaning station was severed.

We really enjoyed our stay at Pooh's Corner. The home is well appointed and the beds were comfortable. The pool is a nice size. The furnishings were very nice. My only complaints are MINOR: 1) the TV in the living room is WAY too small for the room (very difficult for everyone to watch) and 2) the lawn care service came and mowed the grass on Wednesday and grass clippings and dirt was all in the pool after they finished. I understand that this happens but the pool care people should be scheduled to come right after the lawn care people as the pool very badly needed vacuuming after the lawn service was finished.

Our experience was a pleasant one although we did wonder if the cleaning crew had vacuumed the house. It was a very good location for us to fish, my kids loved the pool and the house was near the shopping we did. All in all, it was a pleasant week. We appreciated the linens being provided. This is the 2nd year we have stayed at Pooh's Corner. Our main reasons for choosing this property is the location and that it is dog friendly. We love the pool and fishing from the back yard. The house could have been a bit cleaner but it is a rental property so wear and tear is to be expected. It would be great if the main floor master had a shower vs. a jacuzzi tub, but overall, the property meets most of the things that are important to us. We will be back again next year!

This is a great house and perfect location for fishing and beaching. The saltwater pool was a lifesaver in the heat. We were in it constantly. There was plenty of room for the 11 guests from age 5 to 60's.The house was not as clean as I would have hoped but the management company responded immediately. All in all a great home for a family vacation.

Pooh's corner is in the quiet section of Garden City. The house itself could use some updates. The furniture is stained and ripped. The housekeeping needs improvement. I had to dust a dirty ceiling fan that was directly over the bed. Curtains have dust over them. The floors were dirty in the corners. The cleaning needs big improvements.

The location was wonderful. Although we vacation "at the beach" we don't love "living on the beach". The beach was a short walk for our brief trips to it. We lived in the pool and fishing from the dock.We absolutely loved the pool. Maintenance issue regarding a leaking ice machine were unanswered (my boys shut the water supply off in the back of the fridge or we would've flooded out). The bedroom layout was great for our family of 9. We would rent this property again.

The pool was an awesome addition. It was a lifesaver during the hottest part of the day. This is a great house for large crowds with plenty of room for everyone.

The house is very clean and comfortable. The only thing that could have made it more beneficial would have been for the dock to have a cover over it to block out the sun and heat.

We are local and just wanted a week getaway to relax and fish. This was the perfect place---the house was wonderful and being able to dock the boat right there was awesome. Great fishing from the dock also. Great for privacy, yet not secluded. Had a wonderful time and plan to go back next year!

A few things needed attention - when the toilets are flushed, it sounds like a motor! Can hear it all over the house. It would be really nice if the cover was still over the dock as shown in the ad. Apparently a storm took it off a while back and it's never been replaced. Never could find out when trash is picked up, so there was a lot when we left. Other than that, everything else was great. Beautiful house, lots of room, walking distance to beach and some local bars and restaurants. Great for a large family like we have, and enough room to have a little private time. Screened in back porch best feature. Mother nature even cooperated for our week there. Would definitely go back.

The house was a very nice size and had plenty of room. The water pipes made a loud hammering noise when toilets were flushed and showers were being used. However, the plumbing appeared to work well. The dock was a nice feature although the covered roof area shown on the pictures of the property was not there. The distance to the beach access was a short walk. Overall our stay was pleasant.

We loved our stay at Pooh's Corner with one disappointment. We choose this particular house because it was on the water way and there was a 'covered deck' out there! Alas,when we arrived there was no roof on the deck and the newly built structure was slowly sinking into the water way presenting a possible danger to our family! Not good!
We reported the poorly bult structure to management and it was attended to, but sadly there was still no roof as advertised. As I said, we were disappointed, but otherwise it was a fun week..... rain and all.

Very lovely home 3rd row/inlet. great fishing and inlet view. family history of vacationing in this area for over 50 yrs; therefore, we know what we like and need. Although this property is lovely, it is not without fixable problems. pros = wonderful views, huge living area, spacious comfortable bedrooms, quiet street, within walking distance to beach. Cons = plumbing needs work (constant hammering of water pipes during flushes and showers; heard throughout entire house); lovely kitchen but older refrigerator (can't keep temperature) and stove (oven can't get up to temperature); a minimum of 6 random locked cabinets in kitchen (not to mention closets) resulting in unorganized storage and use; no outside electrical outlet (rented a golf cart; had to get gas powered); back steps extremely slippery when wet. GCR staff wonderful as always. Look forward to our next trip to GC.

The house was gorgeous, wonderful location and accommodations were great. Small complaints - central air speed working but was fixed the next day, a mop had top be brought to us and the disposal clogged once. The experience was priceless. We would definitely rent this house again.
