One Ocean Place 804

The unit was as advertised. The unit was clean and roomy. Apparently the Home Owners Association is responsible for lots of added security. The problem is guests care required to key in a numerical code at each gate.
Very cumbersome if you are trying to carry stuff to the pool or beach.
Also had to call maintenance as the TV in the living room was not working. The mattress and pillows need to be replaced in the master bedroom.

Not sure how I feel about renting next year. We have been coming to One Ocean place for over 15 years.

I rented this unit, sight unseen (except for pictures online) because it was available on short notice and I needed to stay in the area for a few more days. The booking agent at Garden City Realty was very pleasant & helpful; and, went "above & beyond" in facilitating my move from another condo at OOP (which was not available for my extended stay). The condo has a lot of potential but I was disappointed in the decor and upkeep. A brief list of things that went wrong: (1) refrigerator door shelf guard was broken and fell off as soon as I opened it the first time (2) towel rack in master bathroom fell off the wall as soon as I hung up my first towel (3) blinds on windows overlooking the ocean were missing slats & one of the turn/open rods broke off. I am a 72 yr. old woman who is NOT rough with appliances/furnishings. These items were already broken & had (obviously) been "patched together". On the plus side...the bed was comfortable (but, the linens were cheap and rough). This unit could be beautiful if it was upgraded a little and a variety of things were repaired/replaced.

It is a very nice place to stay. Beautiful view of the beach. I enjoyed the beach, pool and hot tub. Small things need to be fixed. The dryer doesn’t heat on the timed setting, blinds didn’t work, and TV in living room didn’t get fixed until Friday of our stay.

We have been staying at One Ocean Place for about 30 Years. We would never want to stay anywhere else. Over the course of these 30 years we have stayed in different units on the property. This was the first time we have stayed at Unit #804. We would choose NOT to stay in this unit again for the following reasons. First, there is not enough living room furniture for 6 to 8 people to sit, other then some having to sit at the dining room table. Also, the two swivel chairs were not comfortable at all leaving basically a couch and one small recliner to sit at. Next, the living room and master bedroom TV's did not work consistently. The Master Bathroom's Shower head did not put out a strong enough water supply while showering. This, along with the shower doors were not working correctly. There wasn't a working iron and ironing board like the other units have had that we stayed in. This as well as the ice maker would not work correctly. Also, one of the closet doors in the bedroom was not even attached. We did not complain because we aren't complainers but I received this email asking for a review, so I thought I would let you know. We just felt the owners of this particular unit should upgrade and make necessary repairs due to the fact that we pay a lot of money for our vacation week. Again, we love Once Ocean Place and will continue coming every summer, but will not stay in this unit again. Thank you for your time and attention.

Rental was clean, check in was a bit messy. There was no final inspection so no one knew if we could enter or not. There was no welcome packet which contained our parking passes. I called the rental office they assured me someone would be by that night and it did not happen. Both our vehicles were ticketed. I call rental office Sunday morning and they were closed so had to call emergency number and they told me they would have someone bring them out by 10 (no one ever showed up). Had to find a maintenance worker at condo to ask what to do. They gave me temporary passes. Had to go up to rental office Monday to get correct passes and pass for overflow lot for third vehicle. Just aggravating

Property itself had broken blinds laying on floor in leaving room and master bedroom. Shower doors in master bath swad.. The refrigerator had broken door slats. I tried to report all this when I called saturday and was told to speak to the inspector when they came and that never happened.

Everything was very clean execpt for some maintance issues which did not bother us at all and I documented them so that could be fixed during non occupancy.

I have stayed at one ocean place over 10 times and visited many more of the units, but have only rented houses for the last 15 years. This was one of the best units in terms of clutter, cleanliness, decorating, balcony furniture that is actually comfortable.
Dishwasher is a throw away operating on its last legs, but it does work. Refrigerator, range, a/c all were superior. Furnace very clean, a big plus for those with allergies. I recall the water at one ocean place being sulphur smelling and we always purchased bottled water, but the water had no smell, was clear and did not taste bad, great improvement.

Location is good, short walk to our favorite restaurant, Conch Café, which used to be a lazy inexpensive place with great food, but it has been "discovered" and is crawling with business.

It was a very nice vacation, we enjoyed our stay there. However there are a few things that need up dated. The showers need replacing with shower heads that can be removed and hand held. This would also help in rinsing the tub. Kitchen is very nice except for the dishwasher, several rust spots. Several of the blind slats were lying in the floor and some were broken. Other than these few things, it was a very nice place and we really enjoyed our time there.

PROS: The views from the balcony are amazing & we spent many hours out there. Location is convenient to everything. Kitchen is updated & well-stocked with dishes, glassware, pots & pans. The living room furniture is updated. The condo is large & has plenty of room for seating. Grounds are clean & well maintained.
CONS: The bedrooms need updating. The bathrooms really need to be updated. The master bath is very tired looking. The smaller bathrooms have very dark wallpaper & need to be much brighter. The vertical blinds in the living room & master are falling apart & missing slats. Many of the units throughout the complex are key coded & the codes were just emailed to occupants. It’s very inconvenient to have to go to the rental office miles away to pick up keys & drop off . Beach access is kind of quirky. There is only one point of access through the parking garage from the back of the huge complex unless you go through the pool area which is only open from 9:00 am- 9:00 pm. Beach is awesome once you get there though.

This was the first year we stayed at One Ocean Place and renting going through Garden City Realty. When making our reservations, I spoke to them several times and all of the agents were so friendly and helpful. We stayed here in #804 and it suited our needs perfectly. Very comfortable beds, clean, large balcony and a breathtaking view! I hope to make this place our yearly tradition.

My recent stay at One Ocean Place was amazing, as usual. This is my 3rd time using Garden City Realty and I can not say enough about how wonderful the entire staff has been to deal with every time I have visited. The accommodations at one ocean place were excellent (bathrooms could be a little cleaner/updated) but as always, the decor, cleanliness & having plenty of everything we needed was top notch. And the view, SIMPLY AMAZING. I like that it is a bit out of the way and not right in the middle of all the hoopla. I can go to the action if I want it or simply relax. I Have also stayed at SurfMaster by the Sea a few times and again, I could now ask for better accommodations or better people to deal with to take care of every need. I've recommended both Garden City Realty and SurfMaster to several people and will continue to do so. I do wish both places had a couple of beach chairs for guest use on the beach

The kitchen was beautiful!! It was well stocked with appliances and cookware and completely updated. Unfortunately, there were a few minor things - that didn’t effect our stay - that need attention : the vertical blinds in the front room and the master bedroom, were missing about 1/3 of the panels - they were “stored” in crazy places all over the unit, sort of like an Easter egg hunt - found them hanging from various clothes rods, under the couch and under every single bed. My husband tried to rehang the ones in the bedroom - but they kept falling. One of the drawer fronts was completely missing from the master bathroom vanity. The door to the safe was on top of the safe - we didn’t need it, so it wasn’t a big deal. There was also a funky mildewy smell in that closet and the carpet was damp. The furnace filter looked like it hasn’t been changed in a super long time. I couldn’t rave enough about the beds!!!! They were super comfortable!! All in all, it was a great condo - I fell in love with the reclining chair in the living room - googled it to get one for my own home.

We had a wonderful stay at One Ocean Place. We had a WiFi issue when we arrived which was handled quickly along with a follow up call from staff to make sure everything was still good. View from the balconey was awesome. The only problem we had was parking was a little difficult for a van. The parking garage is not ideal for larger cars. Other than that we had a great time.

This is the third year we have stayed in a property managed by Garden City Realty Company. We have only had one maintenance issue during these 3 years which was a TV not working properly. Garden City Realty sent a repairman within an hour of phone call to their office. He fixed problem with TV quickly and was very professional. The condo was clean, very well-equipped kitchen, good water pressure for showers and tap water tastes great too! (In previous years vacationing along the Grand Strand we have resorted to buying all drinking water because tap water taste was not good.) Oversized oceanfront balcony great for wave watching for entire family. Beautiful Garden City beach location between Surfside and Garden City Piers.

From the first moment that we walked into this condo, we were blown away! It looked nice in the pictures, but it was even better in person. The view is absolutely beautiful, from the balcony and from the floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room. It is the perfect place to watch the sunrise! It was spotless, and we never saw a single bug. The furniture was very nice - the couch looked brand new. The beds were very comfy. I was glad that the linen package was included in the price, and the beds were already made when we arrived (one less thing to do, and more time to spend on the beach!). There are life guards at the beach in front of the building. Guests are allowed to park two cars on site, but Garden City Realty has a parking lot available for extra cars - just ask them about it and they will tell you where it is and give you parking passes for it. This came in very handy for us, because we were a group of 8 people coming from 4 different places, so we had 4 cars. The only suggestion I have is that a map of the building would make things a lot easier. It took us a while to figure out which elevator to take to get to our condo, how to get to the pool, how to get to the beach, where the luggage carts were located (ground floor near the elevators), etc. We ate at the Conch Cafe next door for lunch one day, and it was excellent! It was a wonderful vacation that went by way too fast! I would love to stay at One Ocean Place 804 again!

Our week started out "rainy" due to Bonnie but it was okay we did a lot resting...watching movies,T.V playing cards..the movies selection was great...the bedrooms were good for us.and for $5 extra for each bed,,we didn't have to worry about dressing the beds...the Condo was very roomy and nice,,,decor was great too....just a hint,,,a couple of loungers would be nice on the deck..we loved this unit and definitely return and tell family and friends about it too...Had a GREAT stay in One Ocean Place 804

We stayed for the month of October 2015, our second October stay in unit 804. Overall the unit is well equipped and nicely furnished. But perhaps the dishwasher could be secured to the counter and a four slice toaster purchased. Better pots and pans, especially frying pans could be added for better cooking results. DVD needs cleaning or replacement and it would also be helpful to have directions for stereo system and a TV channel guide or listing sheet.

Upon arriving at the property management company, they were extremely pleasant and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable, and convenient. The view was amazing.

The unit needed some TLC in some areas like the Master Bath, mattresses and pillows. But this did not interfere with our enjoyment of the unit or property. The A/C unit might need a little tweaking as it didn't seem cool enough. But there were ceiling fans in each room which helped the room to cool down. I would still strongly recommend the room and actually hate to because I don't want too many to know about it!

Condo was very comfortable. Great view. Updated kitchen was nice to work in. However dishwasher needed to be secured. Single mattresses as well as several pillows need to be replaced with new ones. A couple of other small repairs needed including patio door lock and these were mentioned to Garden City Realty upon departure. A great upgrade to consider would be to replace the tub in the master bathroom with a large walk-in shower. Overall stay was wonderful, with exceptional weather.

Nice updated TVs especially in the master and living room. Updated kitchen and nice utensils. Beds were comfortable (needs mattress covers on all beds and hopefully washed between rentals). Carpet worn but looked clean. Attention needs to be given to master shower door (dirty and has mildew), extra effort needs to be given to cleaning behind and under furniture.Recliner was broken and one of the master dresser drawers broken. The area at the elevators need updating. Sealed packaging of towels was great.

The condo was excellent! Very clean, well maintained and spacious. The condo met all of our expectations from the property description. However, the carpet does need to be relpaced in the living room. The only complaint is the elevators. My family was stuck in the elevator for an hour on the Saturday night that we arrived. We also heard of others that also got stuck in the elevator. This resulted in only one elevator for a couple of days in a large complex which resulted in long wait times for the elevator. The security officers stated that they reported the elevator acting up when the problem began, but no one responded to their call until my family was standed inside the elevator for an hour. I completely understand that an elevator can tear up as anything can, but in a large complex such as One Ocean Place, I would expect maintenance to arrive at the first sign of malfunction.

We weren't told about the parking ticket to put in the car and we didn't look at the information until the next afternoon and when we went down to the car there was a boot lock on it. The security guard did come within 5 mintues after we called him. I
think this is something that should be mentioned when picking up the keys.
