Ocean View

Another great week at Ocean View. A little maintenance would improve the experience. The shower off the back bedroom Is virtually unusable because you cannot adjust the water. The icemaker is not working properly and the refrigerator is showing lots of wear. We also had palmetto bugs this time

We love this little house and do not want it to fall into disrepair.

I love this beach cottage. It’s perfect for a relaxing vacation on the beach . The covered porch is where you will spend most of your time enjoying the view. The new high porch chairs made sitting on the porch even more enjoyable. Right on the beach and a convenient beach access. Just perfect!

This home is absolutely the perfect spot for my wife and I to get away, relax, and enjoy the ocean front view while listening to the sounds of the waves. We love the fact that it's a one family home.
Other vacation homes in the area are being built with several units that house many families, similar to a condo or apartment. Those places can get annoyingly loud with screaming kids, loud get-togethers, etc. That's just not our style. We prefer the cozy atmosphere and privacy this lovely home offers us. It's always very clean and well maintained. It comes equipped with everything we need to make our stay perfect for the week. And of course, the fact that it's close to many different restaurants, shops, and attractions is a big plus.
We WILL be back next summer!

Ocean view is a great little oceanfront cottage. The view is amazing and had plenty of space for our 5 person family. Loved the oceanfront porch and keyless entry is amazing. Outdoor shower always is a plus. Would definitely return.

Great getaway vacation. Keyless entry was the best feature. No need to stop by office just go directly to rental house. View is great and the higher chairs make seeing over the deck rails a lot easier. Will be coming back again.

Ocean View is the PERFECT vacation getaway for my wife and I. We have returned for the 2nd consecutive year and plan on coming back next year. The house is always clean and tidy, has all the amenities we need, and the fact that we have it all to ourselves for the week instead of having multiple families in different units helps keep things nice and quiet for us as we enjoy the amazing view of the ocean from the deck.

The customer service provided by the realty company that rents it out kept us right on top of everything so we knew exactly what to expect before and during our stay.

And the fact that it's so close to all the grocery shopping, beach stores, local attractions, and restaurants was a big selling point as well.

I've already recommended Ocean View to a friend and would do so to anyone looking for a clean, quiet place to enjoy the perfect vacation!

We had a great time. Loved the house, especially the partially covered deck. My husband burns easily and having the covered portion of the porch there he was able to enjoy the deck also. I think the only things I would have found a bit more handy would be a small cordless vacuum to help clean the sand off the floor better and a couple of tall chairs on the deck so you see over the railing. Not deal-breakers by any means!

We love the location of Ocean View. Toaster, coffee maker and bedspreads need to be upgraded. Bedspreads are to big for the size beds and lay on the floor all around beds. I have suggested to Garden City Realty it needs a vacuum and a swiffer wet jet. Floors were very gritty when we arrived.

Home was ok. Location is great. Back deck was amazing. Covered for hubby and open for me. Darken blinds or curtains would really help. Ocean side bedroom is hard to sleep late in because of the white blinds and no curtains. Could use some more closet space and hangers. A queen bed and bunkbeds in one of the bedrooms would be was so hard to get use to. Need a channel guide printed out. Even with these complaints, I would still stay there again.

WE HAD A GREAT WEEK. OUR FAVORITE PART WAS THE PORCH OVERLOOKING THE OCEAN. THE ONLY THING I WOULD CJANGE ABOUT THAT WOULD BE TALLER SEATS ON THE PORCH SO YOU CAN SEE OVER THE RAILING. THE HOUSE WAS PRETTY CLEAN. COULD USE A LITTLE MORE. AND SOME MORE COMFORTABLEE FURNITURE IN THE LIVING AREA BUT OVERALL IT WAS NICE.

We truly enjoyed our vacation rental. The location was great- just a short drive to area attractions, stores, and shopping. We really loved the back deck, lots of space to enjoy time in and out of the sun. We will definitely try to book the same house again!

The ocean view was amazing. The house could use some updating. Definitely could use some baking sheets, pots and pans. The air, washer and dryer worked great. Need darker blinds and curtains for the bedrooms and bathrooms.

Ocean View is a great little house, perfect for a couple of people. Great location too, it's an easy walk to the pier which unfortunately was under construction this year. Also unfortunate was the construction of a massive house next door. But our stay was very pleasant otherwise. The location close to the ocean, makes up for all flaws. Hopefully next year will be quieter when the house next door is finished. If the owners are looking for suggestions, I would recommend putting a lockable gate on the end of the deck near the public access for a bit of security. Also a screen door on the slider would have been nice.

We had a great time! The kids didn't want to leave. The house was nice and as advertised! What would make things easier for check-in and check-out would be keyless entry on the rentals. Every house we stayed in in the outer banks had them and there was no reason to go to an office.

Wonderful!
Would recommend housekeepers vacuum under beds. We cleaned ourselves due to COVID, but the house was clean except for a little dust.
We have already reserved again next June.
So glad to have had some time with our family!

Everything was provided as far as linens, towels, cooking pans and utensils. The washer/dryer and dishwasher was a huge perk as well. View and access to the ocean couldn't be any better. We will be back.

When we first arrived and saw the view from the front door through the house out the rear sliding glass doors, we knew we were in for a good week. The location and rear deck were awesome. The open floor plan from the kitchen, dinning room, living room and rear deck is perfect. The bedrooms and bathrooms are nice enough, just be aware that it is 4 separate full size beds that can not be slid together due to design of house. One other note, parking under the house is very large but there is a house right behind you that makes backing out difficult but not a deal killer. Highly recommend for family of four. We did have 6 there for 4 night and did not feel cramped.

We really loved the rental. It was quiet and clean. The home is small but has everything you need for a family of 8. Most importantly, it's on the beach and it's not an apartment or condo. It's a wonderful little home with a perfect view of the Atlantic Ocean. Outside, under the home is a hammock and shower station for when you return from your daily beach adventures and 2 parking spots for your vehicles. On the patio deck, partially shaded are rocking chairs and lounge chairs for the whole family. Inside, the living room has a couch, recliner, and other comfy chairs. The kitchen/dining room has a large table for everyone to eat comfortably. The kitchen has all of the essentials for cooking. The two bedrooms have 2 double beds each. Each bedroom and the living room have cable TV. The wi-fi was pretty slow, but the value for a beach house was great. I hope to stay again.

We had our 4 children and my mother-in-law and we all enjoyed our stay tremendously. We saw the most beautiful sunrises from the deck and everyone spent most of their time on the beach. The home is beautifully decorated- so white, clean, and not overcrowded with stuff. One word of warning-if you have a big vehicle like we did (a Club van), getting out of the parking spot is difficult since there is a house right behind this one. Also, would love a garbage disposal and a queen bed in one of the bedrooms. We had one problem with not being able to get the DVD to work and I was very impressed with how Garden City sent someone out immediately and fixed it.

The rental process was very easy which helps to make the experience pleasant. Ocean View does have a fantastic view with comfortable décor. I do however feel that towels and sheets should come along with the price of the rental and not an extra fee.

Everything was awesome up to the point when the Air Conditioner quit working. Maintenance came when we were away and everything was fine until Friday a.m. Was very hot out and air conditioner went out again so we left a day early. The weather was awesome and hot so when there is no air, it was time to go!

Back again for a wonderful spring vacation. This is a great location on a quieter stretch of beach. As always, we enjoyed the deck which is perfect for watching the waves, shore birds, sky, turtles etc. The beach is actually considerably wider following Hurricane Mathew and happily the dunes & property at Ocean View were not damaged. Not fancy but very comfortable. We love it here.

The house was very clean and nicely updated. We loved being able to just walk out on to the deck and covered deck and sit and look at the ocean. The only problem was having to walk through the bedrooms to get to the bathrooms.

We stayed in this home for the 11th year and had a blast. It is the perfect size for a family of 4 and such a breathtaking view of the beach at sunrise and sunset. Would never dream of staying anywhere else for our week vacation after school is over!!!! The deck on the back of the house is 1/2 covered which is perfect for those who love the sun and those who are seeking some shade. It is very large and spacious and very cool at night!

We have stayed at Ocean View cottage a few times and hope to be back. We love this quiet stretch of Surfside Beach. The cottage has a wonderful deck, part covered and part open so it is perfect for watching the ocean & shore birds no matter the weather. Not fancy or upscale but comfortable (although personally would prefer firmer mattress). Could use some updating but has everything we needed. Large flatscreen tv and hammock were nice additions this year.

There was absolutely no air flow from the dryer at the beginning of our stay. We called to complain but I guess because it was a holiday weekend, no one could come until Wednesday, 4 days later!!! We ended up trying to get the lint out ourselves(From the outside dryer hose). Not fun!!!
We love this house and will be there next year!!!!!
