Perfect location and clean, charming rental. Very steep and dark stairs to entrance are difficult and hazardous with only one handrail. Bathroom could also benefit from safety hand-holds and nonslip mat.

Excellent location
This place is incredibly charming. It has an old school feel with all the wood, and the rustic lot. Close to the pier and arcade with lots of stuff for the kids to do. Both decks were well used. And the hop down to the beach was great. The night we arrived a storm blew through and the ocean was raging. All the amenities you need, more like an abundance. We would definitely suggest a stay at this hidden gem. Or not...Shhh.

The house was wonderful, especially if you appreciate the charm of an original 60's beach house. The decks on the front and beach side are very comfortable. The home has everything you could possibly need during your stay. We especially enjoyed the history of the home through the many paintings and pictures displayed. Overall, a great stay that already
has us planning our return.

Absolutely love this adorable pre-Hugo beach house. Warm, comfortable and very peaceful. Close enough to other locations but far enough from the hub bub of Myrtle Beach to be a true beach experience.

This was our 2nd time coming back to Madame Butterfly, we love the cottage, it's perfect for two people. We love the deck and the ocean being right there!

We have stayed at Madame Butterfly three times. It is the perfect vacation home for two people. The staff at Garden City Realty are extremely helpful and professional. I left two personal chargers behind. The housekeeper notified the office immediately. Jessie left a message on our home phone at 9:51am. We were still at the Myrtle Beach Airport.
In addition to the house being perfect, the weather was also. We had non-stop sun every day with temperatures in the mid to upper 70’s. The Absolutely Perfect Vacation!!!!

We love Madam Butterfly and come every year for the month of September when the weather is great (barring hurricanes) and the beach is not crowded. The size is perfect for the two of us and a guest or two. It is clean and stocked with paper and cleaning products,as well as any kitchen gagdet you might want. There are enough dishes, etc. to feed an army. .

This is our 12 year at Garden City and most if not all have been at the Madame. This pre-Hugo beach house is what the beach is all about. No high rise or sheet rock shell for me. Out of the door and into the sand. Wish there were more houses like this on the beach. Hope it stays in its present county so we can use our awning re our history of melanoma.

We had the best time. Loved be able to sit on the deck and watch the waves. I'm a beach lover. There was a storm with height winds and rain that messed up one day but that just gave us a relaxing day.the only thing that could be better is the washer and dryer. The washer didnt spin the clothes dry enough, and the dryer took to long to dry the clothes.

A cozy retreat for a couple or small family. Fully stocked with soaps, paper towels, toiled paper and other essentials. Kitchen is a joy to use and the back deck is perfect for surf and people watching. Stairs are a challenge for old folks but well worth the4effort.. We'll be back..

This is our fourth year at Madam Butterfly. We enjoy the well equipped and charming interior and love spending time on the deck. This year the access from the stairs to the beach was almost flat so it was easy to get the the beach. The size is perfect for the two of us and the second bedroom gives us space for family and friends to visit.

This house is perfect for two people! We've been looking for a little place to enjoy and we found it! This is our 7th time to the beach and this experience was the best! Lovely. Ana did not hamper us. We were still able to get on the beach and swim. We only had rain 2 days. The house is what a beach stay is all about. Out the door and into the sand. Lulled to sleep by the sound of the surf each night. Best restaurant Lees Inlet Kitchen in Murrells Inlet. :)

Madame Butterfly suits our needs completely. It was exactly as advertised, very clean and close to many restaurants and activities. We are two adults that go to Myrtle Beach/Garden City for the sun, beach and fishing. There were a couple of fish caught but plenty of sunshine and warm temps. Bed linens and towels are the only items we needed to provide. There are plenty of beach chairs and toys and boards for all ages. We eat most meals out but the kitchen is well stocked with everything you would need to cook and bake. When we return to Myrtle Beach, we will book well in advance as this house is very popular. We had to call Garden City Realty's maintenance department for a minor problem. The problem was fixed in less than an hour. In addition to being very professional, the people ar Garden City Realty are friendly, helpful and a pleasure to work with. We would definitely recommend this house to family and friends....but only if they are not going away the same time we are. The airport being only 20 minutes away is a major plus.

We are a retired couple who have been coming to Garden City in the fall for about 30 years. Our family is grown and busy elsewhere with their lives, so it's just us most of the time. We're not condo people. The Madam is just perfect for us - cozy, unpretentious and very comfortable. Access up the beach steps is relatively easy. Little touches like the soap and lotion dispensers in the kitchen and bathroom make it feel like visiting a friend rather than renting a cottage. The kitchen and pantry are generously equipped and the laundry equipment in the second bedroom closet is very convenient. It's fun to sit on the porch and watch the beach parade. We'll be back next year!

Our stay at Madame Butterfly was an unbelievable experience! The beach is in our backyard!! The house is stocked with pretty much anything you need. The beach was never overcrowded. This was the perfect spot to spend some quality time with my new husband. The ocean crashing in the background, the beautiful view from the porch, the night time strolls on the beach made this experience incredible! The house was perfect, very clean and well maintained. We have rented many houses in Garden City over the years and I have to say this was the most enjoyable house we have rented!! The beds were extremely comfortable and our family of 4 fit very nicely in this home. It was also VERY nice to have everything you could think of for a vacation already at the house re: plenty of beach chairs, boogie boards, grill, hand soap at every sink etc. Even a little room under the house to clean the catch of the day! This house is in a perfect location: steps from the sand and not too close or too far away from the pier. We loved it and will rent again!!!!!

From the moment of arrival to departure, we enjoyed every minute in Madame Butterfly. We checked it out before going to WalMart for what we would need for our stay. It turned out, we only needed bedding and towels, everything else was in the house: dish detergent, towels, sponges, paper towels, toilet tissue, laundry detergent, plastic bags... you name it, it was there. The only things I found 'missing' were a blow dryer and bag/chip clips!!! The convenience to the airport was one of the better parts of the vacation too. A dogfish and small blue fish were the only fish caught all week unfortunately, but it was low tide during the day. Highly recommend this home for vacation.

HOUSE REMINDS ME OF THE TIME I SPENT SUMMERS AT OUR HOUSE AT EDISTO ISLAND. QUAINT, AND NOT PRRETENTIOUS. ALTHOUGH HOUSE COULD USE A HALF BATH, IT WAS FINE FOR US AND OUR GRANDS. I CAN EASILY SEE WHY THIS HOUSE HAS A CONSTANT RENTAL HISTORY.
