Lazy O

This house had all the things our family needed, plus more. The rooms were all a decent size. The bathrooms were small, but we made it work. The open family room with dining area made the house seem so much bigger. Lots of deck space! The pool was wonderful. We love being only steps away from the beach!

The inside of the home was very well equipped with everything needed; especially the kitchen. Have 2 refrigerators - one upstairs and one down - was such a BONUS. The washer and dryer looked new and worked perfectly. We had more than enough space as we had 6 people staying here. The front and back deck made it easy to go downstairs based off of where you were in the home. Renting a golf cart is a must with this location being located b/t the pier, marina, and grocery store. The pool was well maintained and was serviced at least 3 times during our stay. The pool was ideal with the wall separating the shallow from the deep (we had a 2 year old staying with us). It would of been very beneficial if the decking from the house was extended to the beach a few more feet as the sand was extremely hot. No grill was a downer, but no sure it was listed as part of the property. The vents and under dressers maintained by the cleaning service could of been better as there was dust in both. We would definitely stay here again!

We stayed here for a week in July and had a great experience! This was the 6th or 7th beach house we've stayed at over the years and this was probably the cleanest one yet. The pool was wonderful for our kids (Ages 2 through 8) and the walk to the beach was easy for everyone! I would definitely recommend staying here if you're looking for somewhere a little bit more remote than the packed beaches in Myrtle but still want beach front in a clean, well kept, house.

The house was in very good condition and we loved the location. The only criticism we have is that the southern two bedrooms were noticeably warmer than the northern two bedrooms at times making it a little uncomfortable for sleeping. Otherwise a great experience and we hope to stay here next year once our plans are solidified.

Loved the home but the pool and pool area were filthy. Even though the pool man came by several times he never vacuumed the dirt from the pool and the amount of dirt around the pool needed to be blown off but never was. Otherwise it was a great stay.

My family stayed here June 3 - June 10. Excellent home stocked with everything you need. Great pool. Fantastic location. The house was extremely clean. However the beachside porch, outside decks, walkways were not. I took it upon myself to clean those areas. There was actually a plastic container of cigarette butts on the porch, obviously from the prior week renters. We arrived early to enjoy the beach since check-in isn't until 4:00. I was sent an email to not call or come to the office until I received a text advising the unit was ready. If a text was not received by 5:00 I was advised that I could go the the office. After a lengthy wait and no text I decided to ride up to the office. I arrived about 4:45. I went in and took a seat. A gent at the desk asked if he could help. I told him I'd just sit and wait on a text or 5:00, whichever came first. He told me that wasn't necessary and to come to the counter and check in. I did so of course. So the question is, should I have gone to the office earlier? I try to obey the rules. I wonder how many renters just go to the office early. He also told me an inspector would be coming to the unit. That never happened. That's OK though as the house itself was clean. This 4:00 check-in will always be an issue. You loose the check-in Saturday and the Check-out Saturday. Love Garden City Realty for everything they do except for this 4:00 check-in policy.

We all had a wonderful time! Well-appointed kitchen. We had all we needed. Plenty of seating for us all.
The pool was incredible -large and very well maintained
So grateful for the many poolside and porch furnishings.
Beds comfortable. Linens clean and sufficient for our needs.
Wonderful view out the back porch.

Some of the issues we had:
Extra room downstairs very musty smelling
Some difficulty in sliding the doors of tubs
Another HDMI cable needed for living room DVD player to work. We had to switch it back and forth.
Tray of DVD player in the MBR won't open so can't use it
Toaster needs to be replaced before it catches on fire. Bread debris in bottom cannot be cleaned out and starts to burn when toasting. Poor design of toaster only allows a smidge of crumbs to fall into the trays that can be emptied. The rest has piled up and hardened. I tried to clean it out but without success.
Very clean generally but should move furniture to clean behind from time to time. Also need to clean under the beds. Dropped items behind/under and when retrieved were covered in dust.
Disappointed to learn mattress pads are not laundered between stays. Dust mites, sweat and dead skin cells in the mattress pads are a big deal. Especially with monkey pox floating around. Including this service would be a boon for Garden Realty.
Laundry room needs a good cleaning.
Washing machine broke on Thursday. Maintenance unable to repair. Repairman came out Thursday evening but stated a part was needed and would have to communicate with the realty company about it. No further updates received on Friday. Very inconvenient.

In general it was a really nice vacation and we all had a fun time and are so glad we came!

This is the first time we have ever rented from Garden City Realty. Very satisfied! The house was very well equipped with all the necessities. The carafe on the coffee pot had a crack so we called maintenance and they immediately brought us a brand new coffee pot unopened in the box!!! We hope to stay at this property again in the future.

We had such a wonderful time! Our only suggestions would be to tell potential gifts about the extra fridge, the stash of beach/pool accessories, and the baby highchair. Also there was no electric mixer or vegetable scraper that we could find.
Loved the downstairs shower room.
Comfortable and relaxing.
Plenty of eating utensils/dishes

We had a great week at the Lazy O! The ocean view and porch was amazing. The pool was the perfect addition and one of the reasons we booked the Lazy O! Loved the kiddie part for our littles! Furniture and carpet could definitely use updating. Would be nice to have the boardwalk extend out further over the dunes like other properties nearby. Home was mostly clean but could use a good deep clean! Loved the addition of having a high chair and not having to take our own. It was a perfect size for our party of 6. We stayed from July 13 -20, 2019. The house is beautiful, clean and a perfect location. The beach was very accessible. Access to the beach would be easier if the boardwalk extended over the dunes like other properties in the area. Definitely would be easier for handicap people. There was a minor repair required in the Jack and Jill bathroom and the trash was not picked up from the previous week. One call to the Management company and both items were handled immediately. The grandchildren really enjoyed the swimming pool. Kitchen appliances were very good and the kitchen was well equipped.

Enjoyed the location of the property. Just far enough from the Garden City Pier to be away from the crowds. Property itself was perfect for our family. We had a great time and enjoyed the house and would come back again. Minor comments: Because of the holiday, we wanted to cook out but there was no grill. Also the path to the beach was a little rugged. Most of the properties around had the walkway to at least the top of the dunes. This property did not and you had to walk through the stickers to get to the beach. The downstairs bedroom is musty and damp.

We had a great time. The repair to the outside shower was quick and complete. The home is great for us and meets our needs. One thing to be improved on is it needs a thorough dusting under beds, blinds, draperies. Wish we could get in earlier than 4:00. The garbage was not picked up with concierge service. We had to put it out.

Overall very satisfied with our vacation stay. We felt the property itself was a little outdated and I felt the pictures online made the place look a little nicer than what it was. We had an alarm go off in the middle of the night and call the alarm company and they were of no assistance. Finally got a hold of your on-call people and they were able to help us get it shut off. The property was mostly clean on the surface but upon closer examination the cleaning needs improvement . Check in staff were very helpful. We loved the location

Fantastic. Great house. Great time. The first two days were stormy but that makes for good sleeping with a window opened slightly to hear the rain and crashing of waves. After that the water was calm and the breezes were fair. The house was well-stocked with anything a family needs for a week. And I'm not just talking about the kitchen. There are games, books, and flat-screen TV's throughout. There are even beach toys and chairs stored in the large laundry room. We suspect that some families bought these during their trips and simply left them due to lack of room to haul home. And the big plus is the roominess of the house which affords people enough space to avoid constantly bumping into each other which is essential to maintain sanity for a weeks stay. Let's face it, everybody needs a little space, and this house gives you that.

We always enjoy the house Labor Day week. There is one area Garden City Reality could address that would help us folks who are traveling a distance. Could management have inspector of the homes/condos call in to your office after the cleaning group is done and inspection completed instead of it going to a third party? This was an issue for a number of us as I waited that day until 2:55 p.m. That would be a good customer service goal. We are all adults so know that the house/condo we rent for the week may not be the first ones cleaned so know not everyone can get in early on any given Saturday.

We enjoyed Lazy O so much for our family vacation that I hardly know where to begin....the big screened porch (especially the porch swing), well-maintained, an abundance of porch furniture including a table & chairs, the hammock, the open floor plan, the comfortable beds, the complete cleanliness of everything, the large outdoor hot and cold shower, the large laundry room, the flat screen TV's & wifi (although we were usually on the porch!), the handy water hoses & clothesline in the parking area, the well-stocked kitchen, and the labels on things (to help know where to put things back and to keep things nice)! Lazy O was toddler friendly...the one-floor plan, the clean safe high chair, and the secure hook on the screen porch door. We will definitely rent Lazy O again! (We almost want to keep it a secret!)

The Lazy "O" is beautiful! Well maintained, very clean, great location. Would love to stay there again. We needed help with operating the TV in the great room. Scott from Garden City Realty expertly and patiently showed us how the TV worked. The next day, while I was outside in the driveway, he stopped by (on his way to a call) and asked if all was still well with the TV. You can't beat that for going above and beyond in providing great customer service! Upon my return home, I thought I had left my cell phone charger. I called GCR, spoke to Diane, who did everything she could to help me. As it turned out, I found my charger; I had not left it after all. But, Diane, just like Scott, went above and beyond the call of duty in trying to help me. GCR will indeed get my business in the future!

We have stayed at the Lazy O for 5 summers. Love the porches and the beach. Seems this year that the furniture in the common area sofa etc may need some updating for comfort. Larger coffee mugs, better a/c for downstairs bedroom and washer wouldn't turn
on. Maybe threw a breaker but we were able to fix. We have a deposit on next year so nothing to deter us for another year. We love it and had another wonderful time.

We have been renting oceanfront homes on Garden City Beach for more than 30 years, and this was one of the best, if not THE best. The house is old-style but excellently maintained and equipped. There were plenty of utensils, cookware, bakeware, towel racks, drawer and storage space; the porches (front and back) were so spacious and had plenty of comfortable seating. Everything worked perfectly, and the location was excellent...far enough away from the pier to avoid the crowds on the beach but close enough to make the quick 2-minute drive. I cannot praise this house enough! If you're looking for granite countertops and designer furnishings, this house is not for you, but if you want comfort, cleanliness, convenience and relaxation, don't hesitate to rent the Lazy O.

Location is fabulous, but walk through dunes to beach for older family members was challenging. Property was affordable for budget conscious family. LR furniture is worn and not comfortable; MB bedspread needed laundered; "WiFi" was just a modem and we had to provide the router. Would consider staying there again. Screened back porch is fabulous for all family members. Love the people at Garden City Realty!!!
