Gulf Stream Villa 113

We loved staying in this property. The house was very nice, the few very (and very minor) issues we had were addressed immediately and the location was great.

We have been staying in this unit for eight years now. And definitely things can be fixed by the owner. Especially for the amount we pay per week. The light in the shower in the upstairs bedroom has not worked for the last three years. The dining room table is extremely sticky and it has been like that since we have been renting there. The washer machine ruins clothes, so that also should be replaced and or fixed. Lastly, the wood floors. You have beautiful wood floors in the upstairs bedroom. I would do that throughout the second floor. Those floors are very uneven and cut my daughter’s foot badly this vacation. Also, the couches could be changed. They are extremely uncomfortable as are the chairs. I just wish that this unit was updated. It truly is our favorite vacation and we will continue to come, but I hope that the owner truly takes this into consideration and updates the property. We spend a lot of money every year and I think it’s time for him to update his property.

Garden city Realty is wonderful to work with. Our condo was ready around 11 on Saturday morning. They send a text message and you have a code to enter the unit. The ac on the top level wasn’t working. They had someone there within 20 minutes. The unit wasn’t very clean and the sofas and chairs need to be replaced. And the outdoor chairs also need replacing. Beds were very comfortable. Nice kitchen with anything you might need. Biggest problem was the cleanliness of the unit. We just cleaned a little and had a fabulous week! Plan to stay next year.

This is the third time we have stayed in this town house and the sixth time overall in this complex. We find that it is very special. We like the location, the accommodations, and the (nearly private) pool.

Overall 5 stars for location,and general condition of the property. Garden City Realty staff were outstanding; 4 stars for cleanliness, condo smelled musty when we arrived, not quite as fresh as last year. Once I sprayed and wiped down everything it was better. Noticed track lights in kitchen were very dusty, as was the ceiling vents. Everything else looked very good. Reservation in place for next year.

Great location. Nice view of pool and ocean. Very easy acces to both. Fresh, new decor & furniture . 4 nice little areas to sit outside with different views. Walking distance to marina and Gulf Stream Cafe. Really nice , needs new ice maker in fridge

OK, with 2 exceptions - 1st day chairs and umbrella was not set up and 4th day was not set up properly, had to wait for employee to reset and as a result we could not use them in the morning

We stayed for a long weeekd in early June and loved being in this unit. It truly is a premier property with updated kitchen, bathrooms, large bedrooms and super-clean overall. The view of the ocean from the top floor bedroom is by far the best any in Garden City! These units are in a quiet part of the beach and you cannot heat other tenants in other units. We will definitely try to stay in this unit again!

It was a great vacation and the Condo was very nice on the surface. It does need a little TLC.

1. The toilet in the half bath needs attention, as it moves back and forth. It also needs a safety plate on the outlet.
2. The mattress in the downstairs back bedroom was not comfortable. The shower in that bathroom needs to have some safety strips in the tub, this could be a safety issue as it was very slippery
3. The screen was broken on the sliders in the dining room area. The garbage disposal had a problem.
4. After our short visit from Tropical Storm Julia the third floor bedroom had a puddle of water on the carpet and it was leaking through to the living room below (above a TV set)
5. The balcony on the second level could use some repair, it felt a little soft under the indoor-outdoor carpet.


Overall, it was a great location and would probably rent this unit again.

We had a wonderful time. I do have a few comments. We stayed in this exact Villa in Oct 2015. Towel bar in the masterbath was broken then and is still broken. Also some broken out door furniture on the grounds in Oct and is still there. Overall the Villa was dirty. Baseboards and carpeting is dirty. Carpet really needs replacing. The mattress in the lower back bedroom on the queen bed is in very bad condition. We couldn't even sleep on it. The bathrooms in general could use some updates. There are also many exposed nails/screws on the steps leading down to the pool. My children cut their feet. Overall we had a great time, but for the money paid think a few improvements are required.

Overall, great vacation. Very few issues. Unit 113 needs some repairs. AC struggled all week to keep the unit at 70 degrees. Lighting in the master bedroom closet was 3/4 out, closet door in bottom rear bedroom needed to be repaired or replaced. Window in family room(middle level) was cracked. Exhaust fan on bottom level didn't work.

Over the years, we've stayed in four units in Gulf Stream Villas. It is, by far, the nicest, most secluded complex in Garden City/Surfside.

This unit is very nice, quiet, and extremely convenient. There's plenty of space for families. We recommend it highly with only a couple reservations.

1. The toilets in the downstairs and middle floor bathrooms need work.

2. The middle floor bathroom needs a safety plate on the outlet. This is a danger, especially when small children are in the unit.

3. The pool and walkway lights were out during our stay. We were told by pool maintenance workers that they had been out for the two previous weeks, as well. This is unacceptable. We reported this to the rental company and were told that they weren't responsible for the maintenance but that it would be reported to the company that was.

It didn't seem to be a high priority issue because the situation wasn't taken care of while we were there. People continued to swim in the dark and trip along on the walkway at night.

It's a shame that renters' safety doesn't seem to be taken seriously by the maintenance company.

We have never had a problem like this in all the years we've stayed in this complex. We hope this was simply a glitch in the system.

The rental company, Garden City Realty, was terrific to deal with. We've never had a problem with reservations in all the years we've been going. The people are extremely helpful and friendly and have always made us feel at home. Thank you.

In the area, we highly recommend Prosser's and Russell's in Murrells Inlet. If you love Southern food, Prosser's is the place to go. If you want fresh seafood and great hospitality in a casual setting, Russell's is it. Make sure you meet Russell, who's the host with the most. Nobody's better.

Can't wait for our next trip to Garden City.

Property and unit met expectations based on website. Unit was clean and layout spacious. Unit is aging and renovations will be required in the near future. Washer and dryer somewhat noisy as they are located between 2 of the bedrooms downstairs. Ice maker did not work.

This is our second year at GulfStream Villas (107 & 113) and we couldn't ask for more from a vacation rental. The townhouse was clean and well stocked. The private pool and beach access are super. Would definitely recommend

We had a wonderful visit in August. Beautiful view from the balcony. The unit was clean and nicely decorated. This was our second year to rent the unit we were happy that the kitchen sink was fixed but the sweeper didn't work again. With kids, I like to sweep a few times. Overall, a very good week. I will just bring my own sweeper next year.

We had a great vacation. Location was wonderful. Layout of property was beautiful and well maintained. The unit did need some repairs. Balcony porch floor needs replaced, the kitchen sink was installed improperly and was falling out. Overall it was a nice place to stay, we had a great vacation there.

Very quiet time of year to visit! Was super convenient to be able to walk right out onto the beach, with the option of using the pool. A previous review from about a year ago mention roaches, but we had no such problem. Would like to stay here in the future.

We recently stayed in Gulfstream Villa #113 and were very pleased for the most part. The kitchen was very well appointed, the unit was roomy and beautifully decorated. The location was wonderful as we were very tired of the crowded areas of Myrtle Beach. We LOVED the pool. It was so much less crowded than what we had been used to and the beach access was fine.

We did have an issue with the toilets backing up into the bathtubs. But we called Garden City Realty and they had someone fix it within a few hours.

My only recommendations if you are staying in this unit or any unit where you are buying the linen package would be to forgo the package and bring your own. The bath towels were annoying small and it would have been nice to have clean blankets to use on the beds. All we were provided with were pillowcases and the sheets. Other than that you are forced to use the bedspread from the unit which I doubt gets washed very often. I found that disappointing and more than a little gross.

But I would DEFINITELY return to this unit. I think it was one of the nicest places that we have stayed in Myrtle Beach. Garden City Realty did a great job also.

WE absolutely love this rental property.. this is the second year that we have rented this for our spring break. I was not impressed with the cleanliness this year. I called and complained and they came back and did a what I asked, but over all they need a better cleaning service. I would also recommend putting like $10 worth of supplies in each time to make people feel welcomed. ie; toilet paper, hand soap, a roll of paper towels, sample of dishwasher soap, etc. A little bit of effort goes a long way. Over all... we loved our stay!

Very nice unit, but we wished we had known before that the master bedroom was 2 flights up from the other bedrooms. It was a bit of an issue with 2 toddlers. Also the college kids in unit 112 had a dog who wouldn't stop barking. Besides that the management company was very responsive to a sink issue.

We are a repeat family to this location. We love the spaciousness of this villa and all the tasteful decor. My only concern about renting this place again next year is the dryer. The lint catcher does not work properly and I am concerned this could be a fire hazard when drying clothes. It should not take two hours to dry a load of towels. Otherwise, very happy here.

We shared the townhouse with our daughter's family and the townhouse was great. Kitchen very well equipped, pool was very clean and children friendly, location to the beach was perfect. The grandsons loved being able to go to the pool or the beach. Our entire family had a great time and we would recommend this townhouse. We had a problem with a drain and it was fixed very quickly.

This property is confortable and nicely decorated but there is no phone service.
When we rented, nobody told us about that.
The cheapest motel has the phone service.
We have rented a villa on the beach, not a shack
in the woods.
Because of that we cannot recommend and we are not going to rent this property again.

Very nice and roomy. Had 15 month old with us so the grassy area was great as well as the fence around the pool. Villa does have wifi so that was a nice surprise. Villa was very quiet but close enough to visit the attractions. Washer is new but very loud and dryer took 4 cycles to dry sheets and swim suits so don't do laundry right before you plan on leaving. We would stay here again, very nice visit.

Our condo was in a beautiful location. We didn't get in until after 4:00 on Saturday, Aug.20th. The cleaning ladies said that the party before had trashed the place and that is why it took so long to get it. The house was clean, but not spotless by no
means, especially the bedroom bath upstairs. Also there was a smell in the main living room all week like something was rotten so we stayed in the sitting room (which was our fault for not calling service!)Also the washing machine was really loud, and the
dryer took a longer time to dry than it should. The a/c downstairs was really loud, too, like it needed to be replaced. I don't mean to sound so negative because the pool, yard, beach, location was great!!

Wonderful location. Very spacious and updated interiors. Overall very clean. We had to have floors recleaned when we arrived but Housekeeping was very quick to resolve the problem. We are already looking forward to staying here again next year. Our only
complaint is that it was very challenging getting our water toys (paddleboards, kayaks and surfboards) in and out of the back area because the fence is locked at all times and we were not given a key to use the gates. We are hopeful that this problem will
be resolved before our stay next year.

Location was wonderful. The beach was clean and a short walk from condo. The pool was great, also. Condo was beautifully furnished with good layout of bedrooms and common areas. A couple maintenance issues could have been easily fixed before we arrived; very noisy washing machine and 4-5 burned out lights. Did call maintenance and they quickly arrived to address the issues. Overall we enjoyed the condo and the entire week.

We have been vacationing in this area for approximately 30 years and this was one of the nicest places we have stayed. Everything was clean and the villa is beautiful. There was a minor maintenance issue, and it was fixed within a few hours of reporting it. Great service. We will probably return next year.

We loved this condo. Location was perfect. Away from all of the hustle and bustle. Did have a few things that were too minor to call on. Fan in downstairs hall bathroom does not work (makes horrendous noise). Toilet paper roll holder fell off the wall too. Washer although looked new, made a terrible noise too. Outside hose by pool, line must of froze in the winter and sprayed everywhere. Could not wash your feet off there.

All in all, this was really the perfect set up and everything was brand new and rentovated. Kudos to the owner!
