Once again we had a great vacation in Murrells Inlet. The only hiccup we had (air condition downstairs not running) was resolved within 3hrs of a call to GCR.
Plenty of room and everything you would need to make your stay enjoyable. We thoroughly enjoyed not only the hot tub but the huge pool (compared to the smaller ones at most rentals). Plenty of seating on decks and pool area (although 3/4 of the pool loungers could not be used due to being broken but did not affect our stay). Proximity to the beach was an added bonus. This is our first time staying at Grammie's Playhouse but will definitely not be our last :)

Place was in a great location of walking to beach and pier. The best part of the house was the location.
- Anonymous from China Grove, Posted: 08/05/2024
Upon arrival the pool area was left a mess pool floats all over and chairs all over the place we cleaned up the area ourselves, but the grass needed to be cut badly around the pool we got eaten up by some fly's but after a call to the management company a crew was out cutting the grass Monday Morning. The home was very clean beside the air return vent cover that could use a dusting. The furniture in the living room really needs some updating/replacing and the upstairs bedroom the queen mattress needs to be replaced. we really enjoyed our stay at Grammies Playhouse the location is great. We hope to stay again!

Let's start with the positives - layout, bedrooms, location, pool, kitchen, porches. Loved that we could bring our dog! We would definitely rent this property again! While the house was very clean, there were lots of furballs around the house that seemed to be missed by the cleaners. The air filters were changed during our stay, but the metal covers were caked with dust and really needed a good scrub. They were not pleasant to look at. The pool/hot tub were great, and the pool company did a wonderful job keeping them clean, but the outdoor space in general needs attention. All but one of the umbrellas were broken as were some of the chairs. Negatives - the furniture and the TVs. While the furniture in the living room looks nice, it's showing its wear. The chairs seem close to coming apart. The TVs were a disappointment. In the bunk room, there was a very small TV with nothing more than DVD/VCR (not even cable). There were no smart TVs in the house, and while we didn't plan on streaming the entire week, our 20 somethings were not thrilled with watching everything on their laptops. Glad the WiFi was good! One concern - the steps going upstairs seem warped. Was concerned about our parents tripping. And while this is out of the homeowner's control, the construction dumpster/port-a-potty next door were a constant source of unwelcome smells and flies! At least that's temporary.

Overall we had a great time. Grammies Playhouse is less than a half a block from the beach. The house is in good shape and rental company was responsive to our requests. The only issue we had was with the dryer. It took several attempts to get a load of clothes dry. A couple of the umbrellas are broken in the back by the pool.

Just returned from our vacation and had a wonderful visit. There were 6 adults, two teenagers and one child. The unit was the perfect size for our stay. The kitchen was well stocked and all appliances were in working order but starting to show some wear. The furniture is showing its age and will need to be replaced. However, it was adequate and met our needs. I was concerned that there would be a strong pet smell but was pleasantly surprised. We had a 50lb Greyhound with us and she enjoyed the unit and the quite neighborhood walks. The backyard pool was just the right size. The children and the adults enjoyed the beach in the mornings and the pool in the afternoons. The salt water pool was in great shape. The pool guy came by twice to clean the pool and check the water. Overall I would rate the unit an A- due to wear on the furniture. One big disappointment was the lack of a full size ironing board. A small table top board make it difficult to iron. The unit feels more like a second row unit as opposed to 3rd row. The walk to the beach was short and easiy on and young alike. A view of the inlet and the ocean was available from the decks. The sunsets over the inlet were stunning. Our group enjoyed the rockers on both levels as we watched the sunsets and our family time. Two big negatives, the lot next door has a new house under construction and the streets were being paved. Lots of noise from both. Both are short term isolated events but caused our visit to be somewhat tarnished. Underneath parking easily supported our 3 vehicles with room for more. Would definitely book the unit again for a future stay. The area reminds me of Myrtle Beach in the 60’s and 70’s. Lots of good places to eat and a real feel of the beach area. The marsh walk and the outdoor music was enjoyed by all.

This house was awesome! Everything as pictured and listed. Close to beach, just a short walk. Pool and hot tub were great!! Not much shade around pool but was able to use umbrellas which helped. Not a complaint but wish the linen package included more washcloths! No issues while we were there and will definitely look into renting in the future!
- James A. from Lexington, Posted: 07/15/2022
we stay here a lot, it was nice as usual but the beds are extremely uncomfortable. Also no one came to clean the pool or hot tub the entire time and there's no instructions on how to use the TV's and they're very outdated old components to the tv's with tons of remotes around and equipment and no instructions to show how to use.
- Jonathan E. from Salem, Posted: 07/05/2022
Overall we were very satisfied. The pool and hot tub could have been maintained better. There was sand and yard debris in them when we arrived that remained there the entire stay. We saw the pool service once but did not see them clean out the pool or hot tub. We cleaned out the pool ourselves as best we could. A vent for the stove would be helpful... we had to open the doors to vent when we cooked which we did daily. We had a water outage for the most part of a day due to utility work in the area that was not communicated ahead of time (utility company said door hangers were placed at all affected properties but we checked both entrances and there was none).Property management was very helpful to locate the reason for the outage once we reported it ... better communication between the utility companies to property management to guests could reduce frustration. We would stay here again... just some suggestions to make it a little better.

We loved our stay at this house. We have stayed at several other houses over the last five years and this one was the best! It has a good location, the house is well organized and had everything we needed. It looked just like the pictures we saw on the website. It was very clean when we arrived and check in was super easy with the Garden City staff. We loved the pool, the beach was super close, and everything we needed was close to the house. I just hope the house is available when we can go next summer so we can stay there again!

Wonderful place to stay with the family
We have loved our stay at this house! We have stayed in 5 different weekly rental houses at the beach over the last couple of years. This is our favorite by far and we REALLY want to stay here again. The kitchen has everything we needed and was even labeled and organized so it was so easy to use. The house was very clean and it is clear that it has been well kept. The pool was a huge hit with our teen aged kids and was clean during our stay. We loved the quiet location close to the beach. Plenty of room for our family. We can’t wait to come back!
- Beth L from Waynesboro , Posted: 06/03/2022
This house is in a great location - a short block from the beach on a corner lot in a quiet neighborhood. Pool, hot tub, and pool deck were fabulous. House had plenty of amenities, was clean and well-maintained. We had 2 small maintenance issues that were resolved quickly. Short drive to plenty of restaurants and easy access to a grocery store. Definitely recommend this property.

We had a wonderful stay at Grammies Playhouse. The pool was phenomenal. We had some hot days coming a week in August but the pool was very refreshing and clean. We only spent a couple evenings in the hot tub but it was great as well. It had a light that changed colors. As did the pool. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you would need. Lots of extra blankets and throw rugs for in the baths in the closets. Lots of games, cards, coloring books, crayons for the kids & adults . The house was clean and well kept. We loved the pier and we rented a golf cart so we could run down to the pier and little shops although it was an easy maybe 3 block walk. The pier was awesome with the arcade and bars and food. We could easily see the ocean from the front deck. Every morning we had our coffee there to start the day and an evening cocktail and watched people & golf carts stroll by before retiring to bed. Most nights there were fireworks being set off. It was wonderful. I had a wonderfully relaxing vacation and Grammies Playhouse was great. There were beach chairs to take to the beach & a cart to carry them all. The beach access was right down from the house making it very convenient.
My only complaint was that the ice maker was not working. We did call the maintenance department but he said he couldn’t fix it and it wouldn’t be fixed during our stay. So that was a bummer. We drank lots of drinks with ice. We went and bought ice ourselves.
The outside light also was not working but he did fix that.

We had a great time and the house was great, had a couple of small things that was a little off, the grill outside was broken and the television was a little off key with shows. They would speak and it would be something totally didn’t then what they were saying. But other than that we had enjoy our trip and the house. Thanks, Tracie Buelin

This house was everything we expected and more. Clean and enough room for everyone. We would definitely stay at Grammies Playhouse again. Perfect location, close to the beach, not far from the Pier. Pool, Hot tub, plenty of parking.
- Michael S. from Atwater, Posted: 08/10/2020
Great location and views of both ocean and waterway. Lots of parking and easy walk to the beach. Loved the back yard pool area and really enjoyed the porches out front
- Trisha H. from Monroe, Posted: 06/04/2020
We had a wonderful vacation in Grammies Playhouse. The open downstairs area was perfect for everyone to spend time together. We eat some dinners together and played games at the table. Spending the days at the beach but also being able to swim in the pool at night or when the grow ups needed a little rest was a great addition to your typical rental. This is listed as 3rd row but was better then 2nd row houses I have stayed in. You could see the ocean and marsh from the balconies. Public access to the beach is just a hop & skip away. I would rent again if we return to the area. Only thing I would suggest that some of the outside furniture be replaced. Many chairs in back yard that we could not sit in due to being broken. One swing on the balcony needs repaired.

Beginning with the Realty staff which were very quick and helpful checking us in to the overall beach vacation it was a blast.....definitely will be back next year!
- Luke A. from Muncy Valley, Posted: 08/13/2019
The house was exactly as advertised. Lots of room to spread out, close to the beach, and the pool was great! Both porches offered good views of the ocean. The realty company was fantastic and the place was totally clean on our arrival.

We had a wonderful week at Grammie’s Playhouse. The property was clean and comfortable! The only issue we had all week was the lawn service blew grass clippings into the pool and left. We scooped them out ourselves as best we could. Otherwise, a perfect week!
- Rebecca P. from Harriman, Posted: 08/01/2019
We enjoyed our stay at Grammies playhouse, the only problem was we did not get to check in until 5:45, due to the home being cleaned, but when we checked in the upstais was not clean as it should of been.
- Anonymous from Gaston, Posted: 07/07/2019
We had an excellent stay and visit. We really liked the house. Some small items of note: Need a new table on the back deck. Portions of the table are missing. Need shade by the pool. Master Bath shower is extremely small...had to Navy type showers...turn the water on...turn the water off...lather up...turn water back on to rinse. Loved the location and convenient walk to the pier and beach. Beautiful home and we are considering renting this unit once again in the future. We did not take our pets this time, but we will in the future because it is pet friendly. Very nice place to take a vacation.

We have rented for 5 years at different house on the beach and Grammies Playhouse was the best .Location was perfect,, pool was great for adults and children. We bought a tent for shade in the backyard and it was sufficient for taking a break from the sun. House was very well stocked and neighborhood was quiet.

Grammie's Playhouse was a very nice beach house. The folks at Garden City Realty never fail to meet all our needs. They're very nice and very professional.
- Rebecca P. from Harriman, Posted: 07/31/2017
We had a great time at Grammies Playhouse. The house itself was a great place to relax. Sitting out on the porches gave us a great view of the area and it was very beautiful. The bedrooms are very comfortable and the kitchen and living area are nice size. We enjoyed the pool and the hot tub. They were both clean and well taken care of . What is really nice is that we were a minutes walk to the beach. Over all this is a great place and great area to vacation.
- Anonymous from Reminderville, Posted: 07/27/2017
Hadn't taken a real vacation in 18 years. It was definitely worth the wait. Great weather allowed sunrise/sunset beach walks with our dog. Days on the beach and evenings at the pool with my family after a great dinner in Murrell's Inlet. Got a "perfect" from my wife and the family loved everything about it. Already reserved for 2018.
- Steve F. from Berlin Center, Posted: 06/19/2017
This is a great house, less than 100 yards to the ocean yet tucked away from any busy traffic. You will see more golf carts than cars. The pool is awesome, plenty of room for a full house (10 adults and 2 children). There are built in seats around the perimeter of the pool which make it nice for just relaxing. This yard gets very little shade so you might want to consider bringing a pop up tent with you and move it around the yard as the sun moves. The tent we brought made it possible to enjoy the pool all day everyday. Do not forget about the deck on the top level which is connected to the two larger bedrooms. This deck provides great views of Garden City and the Inlet as well. This is a great house! Thank you!!

We were very pleased with everything about this rental. The house was Gorgeous inside and out. The pool and hot tub was very well maintained. The only complaint I would have is they over paid their maid service because the was dust in a lot of places in the rental but overall I will be renting this same property next year
- Rose M. from Rosedale, Posted: 09/22/2015
We have visited Myrtle Beach every summer for the past 9 years. This was the first time that we actually rented a house. The house was fantastic, and was literally a 2 minute walk to the beach access. The house was spacious, clean, and all appliances worked great. Having the private swimming pool was an added plus. The neighborhood was quiet, but the house is within walking distance of the pier if craving some action. I definitely recommend Grammies Playhouse, and will rent again on future trips.
- Gail A. from Irwin, Posted: 08/24/2015
Had a great week. Loved the location to the beach and the pool was perfect. The grill could use an update. Not a gas grill and very small so only used one time. Could use a clean up in the back yard by the steps. Otherwise inside of house was very clean and updated. Pool maintenance was perfect, management company very professional and helpful. We had 6 adults, 1 child and 2 dogs and we were very comfortable. Would visit here again.

Our family stayed at Gramie's Playhouse and we loved everything about the house and the location. We had a nice breeze from the ocean whike sitting on the porch. The house is updated and very clean. The kitchen is fully stocked and very spacious. We will continue to rent this house each year.
- Cindy S. from W Columbia, Posted: 08/03/2015
Very nice place to stay. Great location - convenient to beach and not excessively crowded even though it was July 4th week. House had most everything needed in kitchen. Fantastic pool and the hot tub worked great. Sufficient room for 6 people but more would be crowded with the bathrooms available. Beds were very comfortable. Shower in Master Bath was biggest disappointment. Almost unusable if you are anything other than a small person. Furniture was comfortable and all electronics and appliances that were used worked well. Everything was relatively new and fresh. Outside shower did not work which was also a disappointment. On-line Arrangements through Garden City Reality worked well and there were no issues checking in or out. Would definately consider staying in the property again.

Enjoyed the property immensely. Made for some great memories. Would like to note, the shower in the hall bath was very slow to drain and the advertised outdoor shower did not work. It was called in and even the maintenance person couldn't figure it out. The kitchen was very well equipped, as were the bedrooms with plenty of extra pillows and blankets. Also found out trash runs on multiple days, and the sanitation workers were kind enough to come get the can because we didn't know about the additional days. The instruction sheet on the fridge should probably be updated. Overall the experience was a great one and the property enjoyable.

Absolutely loved this wonderful house with all it's extras. The pool was awesome as was the hot tub. Great view of the marsh and ocean. Clean and well maintained. No issues to speak of. Couple of little things but they were taken care of quickly and efficiently. Would highly recommend this place. Thanks for a great vacation experience.
- Emma U. from Fries, Posted: 09/15/2014
We've never stayed in South Myrtle beach before (only in North Myrtle Beach) so we were unsure of how things would be but we absolutely loved it. The location is great, there are things to do right in Murrels Inlet and you are still close enough to everything else that Myrtle Beach has to offer.
Upon arrival we were very disappointed with having to wait to check in because the cleaning crew was taking longer than expected. Just as check-out has a set time (of 10:00), check-in should have a set time of 3:00, not that it starts at 3:00. That was the only negative about our stay.
This place has a great setup with 3 bedrooms upstairs and 1 on the main living floor. Perfect for our family that consisted of 2 couples, 5 kids, and 1 grandmother. The 2 upstairs rooms with queen rooms are great sizes for the 2 couples and the 3rd room upstairs is perfect for kids since it has 2 sets of bunk beds. The downstairs bedroom is perfect, located right off the living area, is perfect for another adult couple since it has a queen bed.
With the open concept in the living area, it makes it feel very big. The dining room table is a great size for the amount of people that this place can accommodate, adding the breakfast bar makes it seating for 12. There is ample parking for multiple cars below the house. The pool was large enough for the entire family to swim or float comfortably, and the hot tub is great for the night. The furniture was in great shape, and fits the whole atmosphere and persona of the house. Enough space for everyone.
While we were there the maintenance people were very quick to take care of anything that went wrong, which was minor. A couple of nails came loose on the steps of the deck but no big issues.
Overall this is a great house to rent and is very much worth it. We had a great vacation and would be more than willing to rent this house again.
- Daniel F. from Wescosville, Posted: 08/25/2014
This is a very nice property located about 1/4 block away from the beach. We arrived around 4:00 pm on Saturday, picked up the keys from the realty company and drove straight to the house only to find that the "inspection" was still underway. Somehow it was still given the thumbs up despite what were visible issues to us. The house wasn't spotless - air filter hasn't been changed in what appears to be months, cigarette butts in a bucket on the back deck that hadn't been emptied, and dirty bathroom rugs left in all of the bathrooms. The bathrooms weren't sparkling either but we didn't feel they were too bad once we removed the bathroom rugs. We did not contact the management company to request service - we just proceeded with our week. One of the bedrooms has a queen 4 poster bed that is a little tall and we had to scour the property for a stool. Otherwise, we felt it was a nice property with a nice pool in a great location.
- Stephanie R. from Westerville, Posted: 08/18/2014
Since there were two grammies staying here, we can say we were delighted with the house. It was well stocked, clean, spacious. The mattresses need to be replaced and the twin beds replaced with a double bed.....but other than that it was great. We loved sipping our coffee on the porch each morning.

We loved Grammies Playhouse!!! It was the perfect place to stay with kids. The house, beach, pool and the location was ideal. We can't wait to go back!

This was our first year staying at Grammies Playhouse and the first time back in Garden City in many years. Everything was great, we loved the house, plenty of room for everyone. The location was great, only steps from the beach. It was perfect for our family and also for our four-legged family members. We all enjoyed the pool and hot tub and the dogs loved the fenced in backyard. We really enjoyed the big porch, it was so nice to just sit out there and enjoy the summer breeze. The only negative thing would be the really small showers in both bathrooms, but you can live with that for a week. We had no issues with the dryer as stated in another review, used it almost daily and it worked just fine. Our week was just great and we look forward to renting the house again.
- Anonymous from China Grove, Posted: 07/29/2014
We loved Grammies Playhouse! The house was spacious and was equipped with everything we needed to make our vacation week an awesome one. We loved the size of the yard a huge plus with kids and several vehicles plus golf cart. We had lot's of space for parking and the kids had room to play games, ride bikes etc. The circular drive was nice because no one got blocked in. The pool area was a huge hit for the kids. They LOVED it. The adults of course enjoyed the HOT TUB. Furniture was nice, enjoyed the stereo, and the rockers on front porch. The only issue we had was keeping dirt from getting on the sidewalks around the pool and in the pool. We could tell the home owners had tried planting nice sod but unfortunately most of it had died so therefore the kids tracked through the dirt :( Grammies was our favorite house to date and we've been vacationing in Myrtle Beach every year for 10+ years now.

House was great again this year, new frig was a plus. The dryer still doesn't work, didn't last year either, you can't do any laundry b/c the clothes/towels etc won't dry, they really need to replace that dryer. the house was full of dog hair which was not great, you could tell they didn't clean under chairs and furniture b/c there were clumps of hair flying out.
- Anonymous from Salem, Posted: 06/23/2014
We had a great time! Our grown daughters, husbands, grandson and one "grandpet" were really pleased with this property. The beach access was so close and you could even see the ocean from the house. Lovely view of the sound as well. Would like to have had a bigger master shower and the dryer wasn't heating too well..our only complaints. Would recommend this for staying again.
- Linda K. from Ridgeley, Posted: 06/09/2014

My family had a great week at Grammies Place. The home is lovely, clean & well stocked. The pool and hot tub were used every day & a big hit with our group. The location is fantastic, we had coffee on the lower porch every morning with the ocean in the background. Small walk to the beach, maybe 2-3 minutes. We loved the house so much we reserved it for the same week next year & already looking forward to our next stay!

Garden city Realty was very prompt in responding to my request for availability.
Grammies Playhouse was so much better than the pictures. We enjoyed the hot tub on a few brisk days and nights. The pool was ready to go but only one brave soul jumped into the frigid water. We loved that it was in a small neighborhood off the main road, yet not far from the beach. We sat on the porch almost every morning talking over our coffee enjoying the sun! The home is beautifully decorated and very well stocked. It does have a pack n play which the rental company did not know about. Love the open floor plan! Many wonderful memories were made at Grammies Playhouse! Thank you, Grammy!

Stayed at Grammie's place in Garden City, August 2013. New pool with hot tub and a huge outdoor space make this home perfect for any family gathering. Clean, spacious, and perfect location!
- Anonymous from Media, Posted: 09/03/2013
The house was great. We would definitely go back. Some maintenance needs to be done. The washer and dryer do not work well at all. Took 5 times to dry one load, they need to purchase new washer and dryer. New frig too. Also there needs to be some general maintenance (doors off hinges in laundry room made it pretty annoying to do laundry), bulbs out, nobs loos on doors etc.
- Anonymous from Salem, Posted: 06/25/2013
Great place! Would book Grammies Place again. The master shower is really small, but that didn't take away from the wonderful time our family had! Everything else was perfect!

I would say our stay was pretty good all except the pool was not finished when we arrived as promised.GC rentals did get a pool guy out to look at it,but said it would never be clean in time for us to use it.The house inside needed maintenance, door knobs,& doors to the laundry area fell off, leaving us to put them back on.Otherwise beautiful house
- William S. from Toledo, Posted: 04/10/2013
Great location. Beautiful rooms, kitchen and dining area. My only complaint is the the shower stall in the Master Bedroom is so small, I had to literally open the door and stick my leg out to shave it! You couldn't even bend over. It does have a nice jacuzzi.
- Anonymous from Jackson, Posted: 09/17/2012
Grammies was a nice house with a great location and view. The kitchen and the supplies were fantastic. The only thing I would change is the shower in the master suite. Whatever the thinking was it was a mistake. When you have to open the door to bend over that is an issue. There was no reason for the little shower to be installed. The master bath is very roomy. If you get past this one thing the house is very nice and well equipped.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Grammy's Playhouse. The office agents were very helpful when we came into town and had an issue with our previously reserved rental house (with a private owner). We were settled in a new rental within an hour. Thank you Jamie! My only complaint would be that there was a good deal of dog hair from the previous occupant's pet. Given this is a pet-friendly house and we brought our dogs too, we were understanding of this and just pulled out the broom to sweep again. The house is considered third row, but the beach access is a straight shot from Yucca Ave and it was less than a 3 min walk before we had our toes in the sand. All in all, we loved it.
- Laurel K. from ATLANTA, Posted: 07/23/2012
Grammies has a view of both the ocean and the inlet. Far enough away from the beach to muffle some of the fun there, but close enough to walk to with small children. House was big enough for our whole family, which are adult children and 2 grandkids, without being in each others space at all. Walkable to downtown Garden City and all the happenings there also. Beautiful rental, great furniture, perfect location. Would recommend it to anyone with a large family. Will stay there again in the future.

Grammy's is a great location especially if you are a beach goers. The house is very nice and comfy though sleeping 13 may be a challenge especially with only 3 small bathrooms. The master bath shower was not working properly while we were there and is very tiny but there was only four of us so we were very comfortable. The porches are fantastic as are the amenities and there is an outside shower which we did not expect. Furnishings were great. If you decide to rent for bike week be certain you like noise because the intersection the house sits on is a busy 4 way stop to other units in the area. The only drawback was the grounds around the home are natural sand and weeds that allow for no doggy walk area. Though we pick up after our alb dog it was an inconvenience to walk down the street. Overall we would go back again. Enjoyed the stay and vacation. Thanks Garden City and Grammy!
