What a peaceful retreat! A large, screened-in front porch overlooking the ocean and the landscaped pool area is the perfect way to relax and enjoy this beautiful setting. The master bed was very comfortable. I really appreciate the linen service. We were provided with plenty of clean towels & wash cloths. The bathrooms were great--no plumbing issues. All appliances in the kitchen were great. My wife and I enjoyed dining at the excellent seafood restaurants in the area. Every convenience you could possibly want is within a few miles.

We had a wonderful vacation and the rental was very good. We were ocean front and the men could go to the inlet fishing.
We were right where we wanted to be. Nice condo.
The kitchen was so well stocked we didn't have to purchase anything to prepare meals.

Very nice property. Had everything we needed. Great views and peaceful area. We wished the pool was bigger though, that’s about the only “con” of this property in our opinion.

We had a very nice stay at this condo. The location and access to the beach was great. The depth of the beach even at high tide was terrific. I especially appreciated the access to the condo...very secure and private. While there are some good amenities included in the condo, it is quite dated. The addition of ceiling fans for the rooms would be an immediate update, for example. The porch view and comfort was a highlight.

Rocking Chairs and A Perfect View!
It was hard to leave The Compass Rose after a wonderful family vacation. Unit 31 had many extras that made it feel like home ( but better) It is a clean unit with plenty of room in the family area. One balcony view is of the ocean and the other the inlet. The beach was wide ,clean and very relaxing. Garden City Realty made you feel taken care of.

Nice condo and was larger than many others we have stayed in with the same amount of bedrooms. Pool was close and beach wasn’t too crowded. Inlet views from the back porch and beach view from large front porch. We would stay again!

We found unit 31 at Compass Rose a wonderful place to stay in Garden City. There are only 8 units and it was quiet. We had plenty of room for the three adults and especially loved the screened in back porch overlooking the pool and facing the ocean. We also enjoyed the master bedroom balcony in the mornings, having coffee and watching the boats going out from Marlin's Quay Marina. It was clean and very well equipped and convenient for dinners in Murrell's Inlet which has many wonderful restaurants. Would love to return to Compass Rose.

We have rented this unit the last (3) years and were very pleased with the updates. We did have some issues with the cable connection but finally it was resolved. The only issue is that we have been staying at Compass Rose for over 20 years and there are repairs needed to the over all property. Roof leaked in Units 41 and 42 which we also rented this year, various plumbing issues, stairwells were not clean, step treads loose, landings and screened in porches in need of repair and sprucing up. Pool guy great but garbage overflowing so probably need addl garbage receptacles.

Very comfortable, very noisy people checked in upstairs and they were so loud, running around upstairs it made our lamps shake.We couldn't take the noise anymore and left a day early.

Another great week here at the beach! Improvements I'd welcome: 1) less breakable stuff around this nice condo 2) curbside recycling please!! It's difficult to carry bottles and cans out or take them to a county center.

Our family had a wonderful vacation in Garden City.We have been coming here for 18 years and love it. Beach is great and the condo is always clean and nice and the staff at Garden City reality alway great.

Loved the location, higher up. We usually stay in the 1st floor unit rental by Dunes which had very updated equipment and king beds with very plush matresses. It would be nice to see Rose 31 update the wall paper in the LR, size of TV's (could hardly see the ones in the Bedrooms if you turned them on then the remote would work, 2 remotes for TV in LR),twin beds need to be tightened they wabbled and install tile vs carpet. There were signs everywhere, do not move this, do not move that, Makes one not feel very welcome. Would I stay in 31 again, probably not if other units are available.

We had always stayed up between the two piers. Decided on a change and loved it. The condo was great and the amenities were better than anywhere we have stayed in previous years. Having The Gulf Stream cafe across the street was just an added treat. The only thing that was a drawback was walking over the dune to the beach and not having the ocean right at our doorstep. Access to the beach would be very difficult for anyone with a disability. Overall it was a wonderful place to stay. Nice pool, great view, picture perfect beach plus Books, cookbooks and a guide to Ireland on the shelf...Perfect!

This is an excellent location for a late summer fall vacation. Very quiet, never heard the other renters. So nice to hear ocean during the night. Unit is clean and well maintained. We enjoyed the "nautical" decorating, especially the low country art work and still life photography. Amenities were all one could ask for in a rental condo. Would reccomend possible microwave replacement, old but usable. Wood moulding and bathroom floors starting to show some aging. Overall a good vacation rental experience. The folks from Garden City Realty are outstanding. Hope to see you next September. Glenn and Kathy, Burlington NC.

Unit was comfortable but outdated. Needs to be "lightened" up with color. Stove, microwave and dishwasher need to be replaced. Especially stove and microwave. Kitchen supplies were ok - could be better. Need to spray for water bugs (large roaches).
