Great vacation with same neighbors from 2 years ago. (we planned it that way). Great Family and Friends vacation. As for the 4 on cleanliness, nothing can be spotless and definitely not expected, but definitely close.

This was our second time staying in Against The Wind A, and I absolutely love this house. In fact, we had a conversation about if we win the lottery, we are buying this house. Haha! It's got lots of room, a great open kitchen and a gorgeous view being right on the sand. There was a place for everyone to hang out comfortably and being right next to the pier, we had live music every night. It made for a great vacation!

The place was great! The only problems we had were there was a broom but no dust pan or vacuum to clean up the floors with, yellow room bed had a very large divet/slope in it, all toilets ran when you flushed one of them and we had a toilet issue/leaking ceiling. But some positives are....lots of room! Lots of bathrooms! Loved the large dining table! Lots of hot water for showers!!! And when we had our toilet/leaking ceiling issue maintenance came quickly and fixed the problem quickly!!

Liked the location and walkability to pier. Our request for bug spray was handled; the dishwasher was fixed quickly. Two kitchen chairs have missing support rungs so chair wobbly. Without any blinds on sliding door, could not use any of couches for about 2 hours after sunrise. Cupboards need to be cleared out of so many extras so we can put our food away (eg: there were 4 coffee makers and only one worked). Toilet in main ran every 5 mins or so. Bathroom towel bars in some rooms were broken off. Would recommend renting to someone if above concerns addressed

Such a great location to the beach and amenities. Lots of room for the family to spread out in the house. I would recommend new conforters and mattress pad covers. The house could use a detailed cleaning and paint touch ups but overall was a very nice place to stay.

We really enjoyed staying at this property last week. There were 8 of us and we were comfortable here. We loved the beach access and enjoying the music at the pier every night. Check in and check out were contactless. Communication via email was great. We will definitely consider staying here again in the future!

Overall we had a great time and would stay there again. Location is very close to the pier good if you want to fish, downside of that is often loud music and karaoke (not always good) until 11pm most nights. Several decent places to eat within walking distance. There is a public beach access next to the property so you get to do some people watching ;) The unit needs some rethinking in the kitchen, there were a few pots and pans, but probably 25 lids that didn't go to anything, multiple strainers, no good resealable containers for leftovers, utensils were adequate. Fortunately for us we always bring a big frying pan, stock pot. utensils and resealable containers or ziplocs so we adapted. Multiple steep stairs into and within the unit but this is common for an ocean front beach house. If you have physical issues it will be a challenge for you. As I said at the start we would stay there again.

Second time to stay in this property and we love the building, love the location and love the views. I truly have nothing to say but positive things to say about this beach house as we have two great stays there. Love the proximity to great restaurants, proximity to the pier, the easy access to Hwy 17 and certainly the proximity to the beach. I will be back next year.

We've been staying in this same house (both sides) for about 10 years on our annual golf trip. Best house location on the beach. Walk to pier, grocery, restaurants, bars, shops, etc. New deck is nice. Recently received new mattresses for the bunk rooms, but could use new mattresses for all beds.

We had a overall good experience with this property. The location was amazing but very close to the pier so just be aware of loud music playing until late in the evening.

We had two big issues with the rental that could be easily fixed.

1. A couple of the mattresses were TERRIBLE! One had a dip that was so big in the middle a person on the edge would literally roll into that middle dip.
2. The internet was really bad. It was super slow and even unusable at times.

The house was nice and well equipped. All items were in good repair and functional. The only negative would be to move the outdoor shower to a better location out of the sand. Way too much sand gets upstairs and can be prevented by putting the shower on teh new deck.

The house is in a great location near the Garden City pier and a $7 uber ride from the Murrells Inlet Marshwalk. The pictures are pretty spot on. There were no linens or towels in the whole house, I guess that is user error but I do not remember seeing an option while booking. Was kind of tough to find linens for a whole house at a last second notice.

Loved the house. Ice maker on fridge did not work. Wasn't happy about having to keep the AC no lower than 72 (it's HOT!). Loved the closeness of the beach and the private walkway. Would definitely recommend!

Overall a positive experience. All listed items were accurate and it was a great location. Being a duplex worried me, but it seemed to be well insulated between the units. Garden City Realty was wonderful as always, friendly and helpful. The pier noise along with the downtown noise wasn't overwhelming where it interrupted sleep. A few negative notes: The rear sliding door was off the track and appeared to have been for a good period of time judging from the scratches in the floor. Called a work order in on Sunday and it was fixed by Wednesday. It probably should've been caught by the inspecting crew much sooner than my visit. The mattresses in two of the upstairs rooms (queen and King) should be replaced, kind of flat. Consider a child gate on the back patio. Maybe replace the flimsy Adirondack chairs with a couple more rockers. For those who like the square canopy's...Not allowed on this beach...Would've been nice to know before I transported it all the way there (now you know) My third rental in this area and this one ranks toward the top.

We loved the location as well as the accommodations.
The light from the Carnival ride did give a couple of the travelers issues they had to cover up the window at night. We had a group of 12 with three families. We stayed home for most meals and the only issue we had was that we cooked a great deal and only had one tiny skillet to use and had to cook supper in multiple batches.
We loved the rooms, and the location. The beach was beautiful. We had several nights when people would light off fireworks right in front of the house on the beach very late at night which was not fun for the 5 year old and sleeping. Having the towels and sheets provided made it nice. Loved having the full sized washer and dryer. Kitchen was great with up to date appliances and plenty of silverware and dishes. The island in the kitchen made meal prep easier for a large group. We would have loved to have a couple extra chairs on the deck for morning coffee. We had a great time.

We rented a five bedroom beach house for extended out-of-state family coming in for my mother's memorial service. We grew up in the Grand Strand, spending countless hours on the beach by Garden City pier. This house is less than a block from the pier and right on the ocean. It was a wonderful location, ideal for the 4 families who shared the house for the weekend. While the living/kitchen area is small compared to other beach areas, the location could not be beat.

Need drapes or something besides mini blinds in back bedroom. The living room needs drapes on doors to outside reflection off water makes it too bright to sleep on couches there. Mattresses could be much better, too soft!

We have rented from Garden City Reality about 4 times in the past, mostly work related. A few years back we stayed 2 houses over Riva’s A. So I knew ahead what to expect (The steps and music from Pier). While these houses are similar there is a slight difference in the space of the rooms, but not a deal breaker. We had a few needs while there but each call was answered very quickly and very kind people! There are some things that happened that was beyond anyone’s control and again very quick response and met our needs as best as possible. We will return!!!!

We took both sides A&B, the house was perfect for 5 families. Proximity to the pier, arcades, shopping, and of course the beach, was great for all the kids. We were in for a baseball tournament, and all of us would recommend this house to any baseball/softball parents!

We rented both sides of the house for our annual golf trip. This is the third year in a row we have stayed in this house and there is no doubt the best aspect of this house is the location. The house is nice, but nothing fancy. There are better properties on the beach, but I doubt any have a better location for such a great price. I would recommend the property without hesitation.

We have stayed in the same house twice now. We love the location and the house. It works perfectly for our family. The only complaint is that both times the house is always a little dirty. The house is kept clean but the floors are far from perfect and the walls could use a washing! Even tough the house could use a deep clean and this year we were visited by a hurricane we would stay again!!!

The house was plenty roomy enough for our family of 13.Enjoyed having the 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms and plenty of water pressure for all when getting ready to go out.The downstairs got pretty warm by evening as the air conditioning didn't keep it very cool.Was hard to get hold of someone to come look at it and then it took a couple days before someone showed up.When someone finally came he said he would send someone out to look at it,but we never saw anyone after that.The music from the pier was enjoyable in the evening while sitting on the deck.Great proximity to walk to the pier and stores.A little disheartened that tents couldn't be put on the beach as we have always done this in the past.Overall our stay was very enjoyable.

We were disappointed that no one ever came to fix the ice maker . The person that came to our place. Thought my husband was crazy. His comment was " if you would just cut the ice maker on, it would work". My husband had already tried that. Other than that, we had a great week. We had to buy forks. There were only 5 forks on our side.

A little crazy at first but got the keys at 3. The lady at the office said they would call us when it was cleaned and inspected but never happened. Got 2 extra set of keys, one didn't work and the inspector said they would come onsite and make a new key....never happened. My wife noticed we got all the linens for B but we were staying in A. Ran the vacuum and it was completely clogged so we fixed that ourselves. Icemaker was very slow so bought ice. They need to have a broom and dustpan for little cleanups. Overall everyone had a good time

Excellent location and property but I agreed with other reviewers - there was dirt in corners and around door frames that was ground in and should have been cleaned prior to our stay. Most outside lights were not working but maintenance was fast and efficient in replacing the one I complained about.

All in all we had a great stay. Perfect spot with everything in walking distance. If you have a large family and need both sides I highly recommend it. The master bed needs a little more cushion but all in all good. I would stay again!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The property was represented as if it was the "whole" house but in actuality it was only a half of a house. It was a little smaller than we expected but it had beautiful views and was situated in an area that was easy to navigate. Water pressure in the bathrooms could have been better, but overall the amenities were as described. Very small living area for a large family but there was a large kitchen table. We would return to the area but would look for a larger living space next time.

We had a great time! The living area in the house was a little small for all of us, but bedrooms were just right. We were there in the off season so the location was great. However the house is right next to public access, so the beach was a little busy on certain days, I dont think I would like it during the busy season. The entire family had fun, if not on the beach there was so much to keep them occupied within walking distance.
We would definitely use Garden City Realty again, but may need a bigger house because like all families ours is still growing!

Rented the entire house for a large family vacation in July 2011.
PROS: Within walking distance to pier and shops--middle school kids especially loved this. Doorway in living room connected both sides making it a 10 bedroom house with two kitchens, two living areas, etc.--huge plus. One side was usually kid oriented and the other more adult oriented. Nice to be together, but not exactly, avoiding renting two beach houses. Large kitchen tables and kids loved seats around bar that raised and lowered. WiFi was great for those uploading pictures to Facebook and adults who had to check in with work.
CONS: Close to pier so beach was more crowded, more traffic and music from pier could be heard (good or bad depending on band/karaoke singer). One bunk room on each side (pink walls/zebra bedding) did not have a closet and lacked a mirror. Some dresser drawers in need of repair. Sleeper sofa is not actually a mattress--more like a trundle that pulled out to couch level made of same material as couch. Variable kitchen supplies--usually searched from one side to the other to find what we needed and over the years have learned to bring a lot of our own. Rusted patio furniture and debris under and around house.

Thank you for taking the time to fill out this review. The owner left the patio chairs under the house for people to use at the beach, or just to use at the front of the house to relax and watch the people walk by. Because they started to rust, the owner removed them. There has been a mirror added to each of the pink rooms. There will be new pots and pans, cutting board, cutlery set, stainless steel coffee maker, mixer, toaster, and electric can opener in the kitchen this year. We hope that you come back to see us soon!

The check in process-my representative was constantly stepping away from the counter to answer questions other representatives had-no problem with check out-placed a service call about the oven being filthy and ants on the oven, kitchen counter tops and master bathroom-oven cleaned immediately and housekeeping told me someone would come spray-no response-old paint pans and other debris under the house in the parking area-good location and overall the house was in in good condition-good value for the money

Thank you for taking the time to fill out this review. The paint pans have been removed from under the house. The house now has all new stainless steel appliances (oven, microwave, dishwasher, and double door refrigerator with water and ice despenser). The house is also treated monthly for bugs.
