Garden City Realty is open for business, however, only our sales lobby is open to the public. our modified office hours are Monday - Saturday 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. 

The vacation Rentals lobby is closed to the public. Arriving Guests, check-in is located on the front porch of the office.

It's important to know that all shared/community pools located at condo complexes and home communities may remain temporarily closed, however, homes with private pools are open and available for use. Local Updates

  • Does South Carolina have restrictions on travel? No. The quarantine requirement for out-of-state travelers expired May 1, 2020.
  • Although South Carolina has lifted its mask mandate, many businesses along the Grand Strand have implemented various safety protocols and may still require them.  Masks are still encouraged to be worn in public spaces including common areas of restaurants and accommodations, stores, and public spaces where social distancing cannot be followed.
  • Garden City Realty and all of our vacation rental properties are open and accepting weekly rentals.
  • All area beaches are open to the public.
  • The Myrtle Beach International Airport is open and fully operational.

What Is Garden City Realty Doing To Prevent The Spread Of The COVID-19?

Garden City Realty has always maintained high standards for cleanliness. Providing safe and clean environments for our guests, homeowners, and staff is a top priority. Our cleaning teams work diligently to ensure our rigid sanitization and disinfection protocols and best practices are being satisfied within all of our rental properties, offices, and operation facilities.

Likewise, our linens and towels are professionally cleaned in a commercial laundry facility that provides the necessary water temperature, soap, and sanitization needed for proper laundering. Residential machines and over-the-counter laundry soaps are not the proper way to care for linens used for guest accommodations.

At Garden City Realty, the health and well-being of our guests and team are our top priority and we want to reassure you of the diligence of our approach.

In addition to normal cleaning requirements, our housekeeping department has increased focus by implementing the following procedures:
  • All housekeeping staff is provided with hand sanitizer, gloves, and masks.
  • All housekeeping staff is required to wear masks when entering occupied properties.
  • All housekeeping staff must implement social distancing procedures while in an occupied property.
  • Upon completion of our normal cleaning procedures, our housekeeping staff must reapply disinfectant to all hard surfaces as well as draperies and bedding with an EPA approved disinfectant.
  • The housekeeping staff will use an EPA approved disinfectant on commonly touched areas including, but not limited to, light switches, doorknobs, counters, TV remotes, hangers, luggage racks, furniture knobs, dishwashers, vacuum cleaners, washer, dryer, cribs, high chairs, games, books, shower curtains, trash cans, and hampers.
  • The housekeeping staff will continue to apply blocks on all properties without turnovers to further disinfect.
We have added steps to our cleaning process within all of our offices and operation facilities to make sure everyone is protected. Proper hand hygiene is part of the messaging our team receives on a daily basis.

What are Garden City Realty's booking and cancellation policies?

We understand you may have questions about your upcoming vacation. Below are some commonly asked questions regarding cancellations and travel insurance.

I purchased Sun Trip Preserver travel insurance from Red Sky. What should I do if I need to file a claim?

Garden City Realty does not oversee travel insurance claims; however, we understand that fear of travel is not covered. You will need to reach out to Red Sky to see if your claim is covered. Click here to go to the Red Sky website.

If you choose to cancel your reservation and your claim is not covered by travel insurance, our standard cancellation policy applies.


I booked through VRBO and purchased travel insurance through them.

If you booked trip insurance through VRBO or CSA you will need to reach out to them for information about your policy. Unfortunately, we do not oversee that policy. Click here to visit the CSA trip insurance website.


I elected to not protect my trip with travel insurance. What are my options?

Should you decide to keep your existing reservation in place, please know operating hours of restaurants, retail stores, local attractions, and events may continue to be affected by COVID-19 related social distancing guidelines. Local grocery and paper product supplies may be limited as well, therefore, you may want to bring your own necessities. However, a major benefit to staying in one of our clean and spacious homes and condos is the ability to distance you and your family from others. You can control your environment by knowing no other people will be in your home while you are there, cook your own meals, and venture out in your own vehicle.

If you choose to cancel your reservation, our standard cancellation policy applies. Reservations are non-refundable. If a reservation is canceled an amount of 80% of the reservation payments will be refunded once the property is re-rented for the full amount of the original reservation. If the property is re-rented for a lesser amount the difference will be withheld from your reservation payment as well as the 20% cancellation fee.
