Spring has officially arrived in the Garden City Beach and Surfside Beach area! The weather is sunny and breezy, with temperatures in the mid to upper 70s. Locals and visitors alike are breaking out the bathing suits and gassing up the boats in what is predicted to be the nicest Spring the Grand Strand has seen in quite some time. If you haven’t visited the beach during this time of year, then you are truly missing some a great vacation opportunity. This time of year offers great incentives, with lower rates, a vast selection of condos and homes and less traffic (ALWAYS a plus!) Plus there are a host of activities and events taking place in the upcoming weeks.
This weekend is Easter, where one of the most popular events is the Sunrise Service on the beach in Garden City at 6:45 am. Taking place 2 miles south of the Garden City Pier, this service is an absolute must for anyone who wants to experience the true majesty of a beach sunrise. Parking is extremely limited, and the service is standing room only, so be sure to get there very early to ensure a spot.
There will also be an 11am service at the Garden City Chapel, located a block west of the Pier. This too, is always a favorite of both locals and visitors, so be sure to get there early.
