I’d already written about Brookgreen Gardens, back in December when they had their Nights of A Thousand Candles display, which is truly a can’t miss. Also a can’t miss: Brookgreen in the Spring, when the flowers, especially the Azaleas are in full bloom. I cannot recommend this enough. The weather now is perfect and there are less crowds. For anyone looking for a great morning/ afternoon of tranquil gardens, fantastic art and nature at its finest, this is the place. Brookgreen Gardens is a National Historic Landmark with the most significant collection of figurative sculpture in an outdoor setting by American artists in the world and has the only zoo accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums on the coast of the Carolinas. The entrance fee is nominal, and you’ll just be amazed by the sights. Take a look at the pictures and you’ll see what I mean!
