With the world beginning to reopen in 2021, we’re all looking for anything and everything to celebrate. Why not have some fun in Garden City this Fourth of July? There are plenty of events, fireworks, and activities near Surfside Beach to get you outside and in the sun. That’s why Garden City Realty did some research to make it easier for you to figure out what fun Independence Day activity you might want to attend.
MURRELLS INLET 38TH ANNUAL BOAT PARADE
Who doesn’t love a good parade, especially when it involves boats? Join Garden City Realty’s very own Lee Hewitt as he co-chairs this event. The boat parade starts at Garden City Point at 3:00 p.m. on the Fourth of July and follows along Murrells Inlet Shore. You may celebrate our nation’s independence, and cheer the boats on from Murrells Inlet Marsh Walk, Belin Methodist Church, or Morse Park Landing. 54TH ANNUAL 4TH OF JULY PARADE
Speaking of parades, you may want to attend Pawleys Island’s annual Fourth of July parade. You may enter a float of any type (as long as it has wheels and is dressed in red white and blue it’s qualified) into the parade for just twenty-five dollars. JULY 4TH CELEBRATION ON THE MARSH WALK
Celebrate our nation’s independence outdoors, at Murrells Inlet Marsh Walk. While you are watching the boat parade from Murrells Inlet Marsh Walk you can also listen to live music all day, eat delicious food, and even see some of the best aerial fireworks in Garden City. The twenty-minute fireworks show starts at 10 p.m. and includes stunning displays of patriotic red white and blue fireworks over the water. SALUTE FROM THE SHORE
Enjoy a patriotic display as F-15 fighter jets from 169th Fighter Wing at McEntire Joint National Guard Base in South Carolina fly over our beaches. This event is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the birth of our nation. The fighter jets will fly from Cherry Grove to Bluffton starting at 1 p.m. After watching the show you can head to Broadway at the Beach, a staple of Myrtle Beach, for shopping and dining. Broadway at the Beach also offers a stunning Fourth of July fireworks display at 10 p.m.
SURFSIDE BEACH FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION
For a more family-friendly event, you may want to join the Surfside Community down by the beach. Beginning at 6 p.m., the Surfside Beach Fourth of July Celebration takes place at 11 Ocean Blvd., South Surfside Beach. The celebration will include some concessions, live music, and T-shirts for purchase. Later in the evening, there will be a fireworks display. SURFSIDE GOLF CART PARADE
Join the Surfside Beach community in celebration, and dress up your golf cart in patriotic colors. The Annual Fourth of July Gold Cart Parade begins at 1 p.m. on Melody Lane and travels to 16th Street through Ocean Boulevard. The best-decorated golf cart wins bragging rights until next year.
